Why, Glocktober, of course. Glorious SPAM! |
Well summer is coming and my usual carry is my Colt Mustang XSP. But I got a chance to shoot my buddies wife's G42, and man, what a sweet shooter! May have to see if I can borrow it for a few days and see how it rides in my front pocket. The Colt is in a Desantis Nemesis and it is perfect.

How about the US made Glocks? here in our country for the past few years all we can buy are US made Glocks..I hope they are built just the same as the "original" Austrian made pistols

That's a stellar deal. Two extra mags will run you $40 for factory, $30 for Magpul. I wouldn't have even thought about that one. ****************************** May our caskets be made of hundred-year oak, and may we plant those trees tomorrow.

so sexy it hurts |
Of my dozen or so Glocks, my only USA made ones are a gen4 19 and a 42. They have been just as reliable as the Austrians. I don't see or feel any significant difference. "You have the right not to be killed..." The Clash, "Know Your Rights"

I was never a Glock guy. Just wasn't. But now I own a few. A G17(gen2), four G19's(Gen 2, 3 and 4 times 2), a G21 gen 4, and a G37 gen 3. All of my Glocks are Austrian built. Well except one. My Glock 37. I bought it in 2009 from Steve at SCP Firearms. Made In The USA. It has been perfect and is a great shooter. Oh sure, I hear the squabbles. The muffled sounds of an argument. Some nights if you put your ear up next to the door on my safe you can hear the Austrian Glocks making fun of the USA made one. He doesn't take it though. He fights back. "I am just as good as you" he retorts. They chuckle. But then he pulls out his Ace in the hole. Just when they think they have him down he says "At least I am eligible to run for president!". That usually shuts them up

Nah, over 60 and have never owned a glock. Just never liked the angle or the 2x4 feel of the .45's and 10mm, not a hater or anything. I've only owned one 9mm and one .40 in my life, owned a ton of .45's and 10mm. DAV and NRA Lifetime member.

The G42 bites another! It honestly is as sweet in the pocket as it is when barking fire. The G42 is an absolute winner in my book. Easy to hide, easy to handle, easy to shoot and fun and comfortable all at the same time. I wish you luck in sussing out whether it's the gun for you. I suspect it may win you over. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

For all you Glock 43 owners out there... How would you rate the pocket carry aspect compared to a S&W 642?

I have both a 43 & a 442, and use the 442 for pocket carry, to me the 43 is just to big for that. I usually carry the 43 in a Remora or a Grizzle IWB holster. I can stick the 442 in my jeans front pocket and it is not noticeable, can't do that w/ the 43.

I carry the 442 in a Nemesis in the back pocket. Don't like the front pocket carry because of the lack of speed and comfort on the draw. Do you think the Glock 43 would work well in the rear pocket? I've had hands on the 42/43 and I'm really liking them. Seriously considering switching out to the 43 for the lighter weight and better grip. Well that and it would put me back on track for the 9/.40/5.56 setup I've been pushing for.

I guess that will all depend on the size of that pocket. I think it would ride better back there and be more comfortable than the 642 would be, as long as your standing up.

"You will buy a glock". Nope, zero interest in 'em. Can certainly respect them, and their functionality, but they're the "white Frigidaire" of the pistol world - an appliance, a very capable one again no doubt, but just an appliance, with all the style and desirability of that white refrigerator. So I'll keep passing. My .02 ________________________ Sic transit gloria mundi Canadian Coast Guard - Retired

You can front pocket carry the 43, no problem, do I'm sure it would work in a rear pocket. Really depends on your height and build. No issue for me at all. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

No place to go and all day to get there |
I carry my 43 in the hip pocket of my jeans in a Remora holster. It sits about 3/8 to 1/2 inch proud but is easily covered with an untucked polo or button up shirt. Just another day in paradise. NRA Georgia Carry

So, how many do you own so far? Are your g-19's mostly 3rd and 4th Gens or do you prefer the older ones? Extra barrels and mags so you can change calibers? It's OK, you can come out here. -------------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. -- H L Mencken I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. -- JALLEN 10/18/18
