Question. I have a real problem with Glocks. How do I prevent them from following me home from the LGS? The ugly buggers seem to be multiplying like rabbits these days.

Once you've hit this stage, it's too late.

Over the past year or so, I've made an effort to explore the g19. On paper, it ought to be my preferred ccw gun. The notion behind only ever having one consistent trigger pull from first shot to last is very appealing. Historically, I've shot Glocks very poorly, and that's proven my obstacle to getting one. Somewhere around a half dozen times I've gone to the local range, rented the g19, run through a hundred or so rounds trying to make it work. While I got better, my groups still sucked. Past 10 yards, I could scarcely shoot a group that would hide inside a generously sized dinner plate. The problem is certainly orginiating behind the grip of the gun, and I've become resigned to the fact that I don't have enough time to commit to training this issue away.

Enter the Sig p320 Compact.

Glock 19-sized, and similar capacity.

Shot the range rental, and shot it as well as my classic P sigs. Shot it a couple more times - same results.

Bought it.

Now in the process of putting it though the paces to prove it's got the right to be my ccw.

I guess I've gone to the "gray" side of the "dark side."

Still, wishing the g19 would have worked out; then I'd have plenty of holster choices and spare magazines wouldn't be as rare as unicorn farts.

Oh, by the way, which one's "Pink?"

I hated Glocks till the Gen 4's came out. Got a 23 and it's my edc now. Planning on adding a 19 and a 10mm in the future.

I seem to shoot similar sized groups with the P320C and the G19...however, I can easily outshoot my G34 with my P320fs.

I also have a P320 357 conversion kit thus giving me an excuse to get a G32 or G31 to further compare...I will buy another Glock LOL.

I accept the facts that Glocks are reliable and have great aftermarket support.

But every time I pick one up it feels like I am holding a 2x4 in my hand (at least they don't have splinters), and because of the weird grip angle, they do not point naturally for me.

Now I will further admit that when I have actually shot Glocks, I shot them better than I would have expected, although not better than SFA guns made by other manufacturers.

Now I am shopping around for a mid-size 9mm carry pistol and I suppose I have to put the G19 on the list of candidates. But my question is how do I go about falling in love with a butt-ugly pistol with a spongy trigger and no soul that feels like crap in my hand?

Try a gen 4 and use a beavertail. Then run one at speed. Don't take 5 seconds for a shot, rapid fire it. Your opinion should change.

I carried a G17 in a Comp-Tac Minotaur MTAC for a couple years, and it worked fairly well, but several years ago I switched to using all-leather IWBs from http://ttgunleather.com/

My G17 conceals nicely under a slightly loose untucked polo or square-bottom button-down shirt.

G26 G21
G19 G17
(I also have one for my G30, but I haven't updated my "family photo" in almost a year.)

Kudos to you for being able to stick a G21 in your waistband! Never would have thunk that was possible
I am considering getting an IWB for my 17 to see how it goes.

Try a Comp-Tac CTAC and a Wilderness Instructor's belt. I found that I can conceal my 20SF if I want with that holster/belt combo. The 17 feels much easier to carry (it is thinner in the slide)than the 20/21 series. I also like the Comp-tac flatline for carrying my 17.

Really? It's not all that much larger than a G17... Less than 1/10th of an inch in any direction (or 1-2 millimeters).

.08" longer
.04" taller
.09" wider

And only 6.18 ounces heavier fully-loaded.

Width is usually the dimension that bothers people the most IWB, and in that regard, the double stack .45/10mm Glocks are just .09 inches wider than all the double stack 9mm/.40/.357 Glocks that tons of people carry IWB every day.

Plus, at 38.3 ounces fully-loaded, the G21 is still lighter than, or at least equivalent to, the loaded weight of most any full-sized all-metal handgun.

More than a hair too big to IWB carry for me and my 5'8" frame, both the G21 and G17/G22. Especially in a leather holster. You guys that can pull it off...envy.

My daughter said, "I'm sending you a photo. This is what I want."

She says," that's a Glock right?"
Me- "Yep, a little pimped out, but it is a Glock."
Her,"That's what I want, I like the slide."

I was kind of floored she even knew what the slide was, but it did make me smile.

As Prefontaine mentioned, try a Gen4. I never bought a Glock for the same reason...until I tried a Gen4. Currently have G19 and G34 Gen4's. I use the G19 without any back straps and the G34 has a GripForce Adapter. Generally, if you put a Glock Medium adapter on the Gen4 you have a grip size close to the Gen3. The G19 does not have the classic "high point", for my hand at least. The G34 does, hence the GFA. Grip shapes and finger grooves are slightly different between the two.

Unfortunately, a lot of discussions involving Glocks don't identify which Gen the poster is talking about. It makes a difference in the grip and the triggers. Both of my Gen4 triggers are bone stock and very good. NEITHER is spongy. Both have a crisp release (wall).

Besides Warren Tacticals, only mods on mine are Vickers mag release on both and Vickers slide lock lever on G19. Minor shaping to avoid Glock Knuckle. In terms of functionality, I consider them the equal of my Sig classic P-series, P320 and 1911's. Personality is a little different, but a great SD gun nevertheless.

I don't think you could go wrong with either a Gen4 G19 or P320C 9 mm. Only one way to find out. Smile

It doesn't have to be like that, y'know. Just own up and be free.

Nothing wrong with a Glock if that stupid trigger didn't kill my finger after two magazines .

I bought my fifteenth Glock, a 29, Friday from a co-worker. He bought it new in January 2014, fired 45 rounds through it total, just never warmed up to it.

I have a S&W 1006 and really did not need another 10mm, but the price was right. I will take it to Glock this Wednesday and get steel sights put on it, get one more spare mag, and I will be good to go.
