We just traded in our second hand Sig P229s (went from S&W Sigmas to Sig P229s we got on loan from Coast Guard) for Glock 22 Gen4's. I am really liking them alot and 6 mags, night sights and gun cost us $300 even brand new. We had to give back the P229s 1 Jan due to loan agreement.

Now I have to get a Gen4 Glock 22 to practice with I was had ordered Gen3s but got a email while i was in Iraq (reservist) asking me if i wanted a free upgrade to Gen4's and I said well f'ing-A.

Oh I have 7 Glocks and had eight but sold it to buy a P226rDAK.

I own a G36... and have 11 magazines for it, so I guess I must like it.

Don't go expecting some pocket wonder gun when thinking of the G36. It is pretty much the size of something like a CZ P07 Duty - a recent design, 16 shot 9mm.

The pull of the Glock product is definitely strong. I have been considering my next firearm purchase and have most completely fallen in lust with the G29.

I mean, I love the 10mm cartridge (thats mostly what I reload) and the Glock pistols just plain get-the-job-done.

Glocks, I'm just not that into you. I've gone from SR9 to M&P-9 to a stable of Sigs. The SR9 felt right and was full of safety features for a newbie, the M&P is a good solid gun, but the Sigs are clearly my preference.

While we're talking about these, does anybody recall what the factory rear sight height is on the rear sight? I see .240" .270", .290" etc.

I can't even remember the front now that I think about it?

Thanks!!

Steve, from the Glock website:

GLOCK rear sights are available in four heights. The standard rear sight height for GLOCK pistols in 9x19, .40, .45 G.A.P., .357 and .380 calibers is 6.5mm (0.256in.); .45 and 10mm AUTO calibers 6.9mm (0.27in.). Rear sights are also available in heights of 6.1mm (0.24in.), 6.9mm (0.27in.) and 7.3mm (0.29in.). Every change of the rear sight height will result in a shift of the predicted position of approximately 50mm (1.97in.) over 25m (27yds.) firing distance.

Hope that helps!
