You see this stuff and you have to wonder about the sanity of the people that come up with it

ABC considering a version of 'Roseanne' without Roseanne Barr

"Roseanne" was canceled just a few days ago. ABC is already talking about a way to bring a version of the show back -- without its namesake Roseanne Barr.

Hahahaha! "Roseanne" without, y'know, Roseanne. Yeah, that's bound to be a hit. Hahahahaha!

Idiots.

I’ve been wondering about that for most of the last 50 years or so.

It must be delicicous for Newton Minow to lived to see how right he was.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Network TV rarely gets any watching from me, much less mediocre sitcom type shows like Roseanne.

I never really watched it the first time around, and it wasn't even on my radar until recent events.

I was surprised that the liberal propaganda machine would let such a vocally pro-Trump actress take the spotlight so it did raise an eyebrow.

Then they showed their true colors. Big surprise.

I'm not a big fan of Rosanne.

BUT I think it's her right to say what she wants to. To me the first amendment applies to all speech no matter what color you are. I'll leave it at that.

Anyone remember this?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hogan_Family

The show was originally called Valerie, but when there was some dispute and Valerie Harper left the show, the network kept it going without her. That's like getting rid of Jerry Seinfeld on Seinfeld, or Dick van Dyke on his show.

If ABC does this, expect one season or less out of it. After everyone has a chance to look at the train wreck, they'll lose interest PDQ. Unless the execs at ABC are gluttons for punishment, they should just move on.

This is NOT a first amendment issue. Roseanne is not being charged, investigated, or fined by the government.

She was fired by her employer for making a public and racist tweet which would have cost her employer in more ways than just money had they not cancelled the show.

Her first amendment rights were not violated; Freedom of Speech does not mean there will not be consequences.
