Of course the left is using this to tar all Trump supporters. Then there's all the folks connected with the show now out of work so, yeah, Roseanne shit the bed big time.

Interesting take from Mark Dice who notes much ignored by opportunists.

I have not seen the later "Planet of the Apes" so I know nothing of the characters. I wonder how this would have all played out had Roseanne included this comparison --

This pic has apparently been making the rounds for the last year, Nicola Sturgeon, first minister of Scotland --

Ripley,
Thanks. Mark Dice nailed it. Liberal hypocrisy.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

It would seem that only one demographic is allowed to be insulted by being compared to apes/monkeys. Maybe VJ can initiate a dialog on the subject --

They are going scorched earth on Roseanne Barr; just heard that ALL Roseanne TV show re-runs from ALL sources are being pulled. Network TV and streaming services. Down the memory hole with her! She is now an unperson.

Make no mistake, this is retribution for her daring to be a Trump supporter and a warning to all other who come after her to never leave the Democrat camp.

I recall Maher making a reference to the "Rise of the planet of the Apes" while insulting some black person associated with the Right, who dared to ignore the groupthink script for black people. Was it Ben Carson, or perhaps Sheriff David Clarke?

He made this remark during the opening monologue of his HBO show. It happened maybe 18 months, two years ago, maybe a bit longer than that.

I've searched for it in youtube and a general online search and cannot locate the clip. My google-fu is as good as anyone in this forum, and it appears that all references to this remark have been scrubbed. I searched for over 10 minutes, all sorts of different characters strings. Nothing. Can anyone locate it? The remark was about some conservative black who went off the script and dared to think for himself, and it was made during his opening monologue of Real Time.

Does anyone remember what I'm referring to? It may have been as long ago as 4 years. The only way I heard about the remark back then was because some leftist website repeated the remark, thinking it was oh so clever. I saw the video. This happened. I can't be the only person who remembers this, and now's the time to stick it in their faces.

LOS ANGELES, May 30 (Reuters) - U.S. comedian Roseanne Barr said she was tired of "being attacked and belittled" and blamed sleep aid Ambien for her tweet that compared a black former Obama administration official to an ape, a racist remark that sparked a wave of outrage.

Barr said in a series of Tweets on Tuesday and early on Wednesday that what she did was "unforgiveable" when she posted on Twitter that if the Islamist political movement "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby = vj," referring to Valerie Jarrett, a former aide to President Barack Obama.

"It was 2 in the morning and I was Ambien tweeting-it was memorial day too-i went 2 far & do not want it defended-it was egregious Indefensible," she wrote. "I made a mistake I wish I hadn't but...don't defend it please."

In other Tweets, Barr said that she was tired of "being attacked and belittled more than other comedians who have said worse" and asked for people not to boycott ABC, saying that the network has the right to "do what they wish."

Sorry girl, the "It was Ambien" defense only works if you're a liberal, ESPECIALLY if you're a Kennedy. From 2006:

Rep. Patrick Kennedy says he'd taken prescription anti-nausea and sleep drugs, but consumed no alcohol, before crashing his car near the Capitol.

In a statement, Kennedy, D-R.I., said the attending physician for Congress had prescribed Phenergan to treat Kennedy's gastroenteritis, an inflammation of the stomach and intestines. The drug can increase the effects of sleep medicines such as Ambien, which Kennedy said he had also taken...

Kennedy said that after working Wednesday evening he went home and took "prescribed" amounts of Phenergan and Ambien, which he sometimes takes to fall asleep.

In his statement, Kennedy said he was apparently disoriented from the drugs when he got up a little before 3 a.m. Thursday and drove to the Capitol thinking he needed to be present for a vote.

She just bitch slapped the other cast members didn't she? She and John Goodman seem to have enough money to live, but the other cast members probably depended on this show being popular for their future bank account.

The left is desperate for a “win”. Roseanne getting canned is as close to a feel-good win for their side as anything else in the last 2 years. Think about how pathetic that is for a moment. They have to associate the firing of Roseanne with the “defeat” of Trump. Thats how fragile the psyche is of the liberal left. We all still know what “winning” really looks like. Their side will be smug about this until about Tuesday, and then they’ll have to look for something else.

This woman does not represent us. This woman has never represented the American right. She was married to Tom Freaking Arnold, for God's sake. She's as Hollywood as she can be. She doesn't know anything about us. She doesn't understand why we believe the things we do, why we hold the values we do.

Do you watch network TV? I don't. I stopped after the Krimson Kenyan conned his way into the White House with the help of our apparatchik "news media". So, what have you lost? You've lost nothing. What we now have, though, is a spotlight being shined on the hypocrisy of the filthy, amoral left. Keith Olberman, Bill Maher- they're now being scrutinized. It matters not that almost certainly, there will be no direct consequences for those two slugs. What matters is the spotlight and the scurrying about of the left as they try to rationalize and explain this contradiction. And everyone can see, as plain as day- no matter what excuse the left comes up with- that the leftists have once again been proven to be liars and incomparable hypocrites.

I love this quote from the makers of Ambien.

Barr continued tweeting Wednesday, at one point saying the offending tweet was composed at 2 a.m. after she took the insomnia drug Ambien. That led the drug maker Sanofi to say on social media that “racism is not a known side effect” of its product.

No taking Ambien will not make you say/tweet/post stupid things, but you might make poor life decisions while on Ambien. Just read the side effects disclaimer of taking Ambien.

Yes, I've used Ambien for several years and I have ordered things on the Internet which I later cancelled or deleted.

I don't remember the standup one but remember this one while he was doing an interview with Ben Sasse. Its around the the 25 second mark and he calls himself a "House N*&^^(("

There was some outrage over it but it was short lived.
