So I understand why you're saying this, but this past weekend, my entire neighborhood was out raking leaves and the kids were playing together. The local grocery store was full and everyone was friendly. My suburb is as mixed (politically and racially) as you could imagine and everyone is living their life and treating those around them with respect and friendliness.

I know why you're saying this, but I refuse to believe it's true where people refuse to let it happen.

The fear mongers at every level of "news and talk" simply need ears, eyeballs, clicks, and furor in order to continue their empires. It's stupid and I stopped participating as did many of my neighbors.

Again, I know and understand where this comes from. It just strikes me as something we can choose to push back on at every level, and it doesn't have to be violently. Actively building your neighborhood and community is the solution and all that it takes to start that solution is taking a plate of brownies to your neighbor that had the political sign you despised.

Wise words

The picture with Trump is fantastic!

I do hope no one here worries that the crazy people will now know were he is and try to find him though. Razz

Great pic of President Trump and Kyle Rittenhouse

I wish Kyle the best no matter if he goes quiet or maintains a high profile

Very much agree w arabiancowboy's previous post: "Let’s not give another inch, and let’s stop letting psychos dictate our behavior."

That is the attitude I have adopted.

The root cause of the events in Kenosha was the rioting / property burning of BLM and antifa. The next trigger was the standard cowardly response by the city officials to allow the destruction to continue.

Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Who's the wokest of them all?

Could it be Best Buy, who offered counseling to all of their employees after the 'traumatic' Rittenhouse verdict?

Hmmm... Best Buy "inclusive"? Not in the Yoop! They built a nice store here in MQT and then closed it within a couple of years. I feel discriminated against and need reparations!

"Chief Inclusion, Diversity, and Talent Officer"

If I met somebody who told me that was their job title I'm afraid I'd have to quickly excuse myself from the room so I could go somewhere to LMFAO.

If I was still in the job market I think I'd avoid like the plague any place that had an Officer with that job title. No kidding.

Nearly every large company in America has one of these folks on the payroll. Full-time. Smaller companies have their leanings/HR but may also hire in diversity consultants in lieu of full-time badged positions.

Why? So that .gov/people ignore the other sins they commit.

quote:
In the teaching of the Catholic Church, an indulgence (Latin: indulgentia, from indulgeo, 'permit') is "a way to reduce the amount of punishment one has to undergo for sins".[1]

The Catechism of the Catholic Church describes an indulgence as "a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven, which the faithful Christian who is duly disposed gains under certain prescribed conditions through the action of the Church which, as the minister of redemption, dispenses and applies with authority the treasury of the satisfactions of Christ and all of the saints".[2]

Most of my life I would have agreed with you. But now I disagree. It’s time to stop living in fear and push back every chance we get. If Kyle wants to hide out and hope this passes him by, I wouldn’t blame him at all and I’d wish him the best. But if he wants to embrace the culture war he was thrust into, I support that too. Let’s not give another inch, and let’s stop letting psychos dictate our behavior.

I couldn't agree with this more. Last summer, 2020, was the summer of acquiescence. That is over. No more appeasement. No more giving in or falling back. Without any humorous reference to the move 'Network', I for myself can say I'm as mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore.

Ok the most interesting part of the FOX interview was what Kyle said about Lin Wood.

That Wood guy struck me as someone using Kyle to suck up money... but Kyle called him on it.

Did Wood Reply ?

Those attorneys were John Pierce and Lin Wood, who painted Rittenhouse as a defender of liberty and a patriot who was exercising his right to bear arms. Richards said the only thing that mattered to him was “whether he was found not guilty or not.
