the insiders are scared, mad, confused, in denial, and feeling threatened, by three outsiders - one of whom most assuredly will not be their bitch or intimidated by them if elected, and two others who are newcomers/wildcards, all three of whom are beating everyone of "their people"; these insiders, the GOPe largely, are shocked by the way and degree to which Americans on all sides have responded to Trump, and these insiders expose their positions and ineffectual scrambling with every false equivalency, every example of FUD, almost every word.

and now Sowell stoops to Hitler references? disappointing... where's the real dirt? if Trump has a material defect, unique to him, somehow different from the rest of the field and Washington as a whole, show me what it is, show me the body buried in his yard, the people he screwed, show me that he's lying about something important, please... I'd love to know; but do more than whine about his blunt nature and ego and how his pinkie doesn't stick out far enough while drinking royal tea.

because these insiders have too much at stake to believe (in the absence of clear evidence), from their golf memberships, to prestigious jobs and appointments, to the very credibility of institutions like FOX news, to the near impunity the elected ones enjoy while they defy traffic, tax, banking and investing laws, while most of them enjoy a life of cocktail parties and favors, reaping in the fruits of primarily our labors, and doing little of substance beyond the dog and pony show.

put up or shut up, detractors, pundits, reporters, and politicians on all sides. because as many have noted, too many of us are fed up...

I love how sowell writes that it is the "uninformed electorate" that is the issue, and that elections are note any to express displeasure with your party? Really? Please explain what we need to do to get the GOP to pay attention then, Without Trump we would be listening to all Jeb all the time no matter what the pundits say.

Bullshit. We had a very good anti establishment TEA Party candidate that is extremely intelligent and would have actually had a chance to beat the Dems and would have done a hell of a job. Trump is just more anti establishment and his biggest qualification is that he has not been a politician. I'm sure I'll hold my nose and vote for him just like I did the establishment nominees, but to say he is the only anti GOP establishment running is just insane.

I'm a great fan and admirer of Thomas Sowell. But this column is a disappointment. Condescending, and to go for the foolish Hitler comparison is far beneath Sowell's intelligence. He cites other highly qualified candidates, but won't name one. Because the only ones he could name would be Walker, who is even duller than Jeb, and Cruz-- who likes Trump.

The MSM might forego the utterly lame "gravitas" thing and go right for Hitler! When they resort to that, get ready for President Donald Trump.

My Trump flag should be ready in a few days.

Gonna fly it until the election. May have to order a second or third if it fades too much. My wife is 'so excited'

I bought 2 hats from his web site thinking they may be collectible one day. They came before I got home. By the time I did the wife had the tags already off one and wearing it.
So I did the same. Wore one out camping all weekend and continue to get positive comments about it. In Minnesota even. Weird. Razz

CNN debate tomorrow

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09...gop-debate.html?_r=0

Jake Tapper:

“That’s how we’ve been crafting our questions, so that Senator X will respond to what Governor Y said about him or a policy he proposed, and try to encourage them to actually debate Lincoln-Douglas style as much as possible,” he said, referring to the face-offs between Abraham Lincoln and Stephen A. Douglas.

The sentiment is shared throughout the network. “Our whole approach is sparking a debate,” said Dana Bash, CNN’s chief political correspondent, who, along with Hugh Hewitt, a conservative radio host, will also be onstage asking questions.

“If someone says something that cries out for an obvious follow-up with someone who clearly disagrees or someone who is dying to get in, let it happen. Let the debate be a debate.”

“Jake Tapper is going to do whatever he can to get the candidates to go after each other,” said a strategist advising one of the candidates, who declined to be named delivering what could be seen as a criticism of the network.

It's hard to say who the Trump supporters would be behind if it wasn't Trump. I suspect it would be Cruz, but Cruz might be too Conservative than some of the Trump supporters like. As far as Walker, I see him as a typical flip flopping politician, a lot of his actions show him to be even more liberal than Trumps past words. It doesn't matter at this point, I will vote for Trump because he will be the lesser of two evils, but I don't think he stands a chance once the dens fall back to their normal class welfare and convince people that all their problems are caused by rich people. I'm sick and tired of having to vote for the lesser of two evils though. My only hope is that Trump gets a decent running mate and surrounds himself with people that know what they are doing.

5 minutes of The Kelly File. (5 mins. is all you need to see what they are doing-- without having to be disgusted/pissed off with the whole show.) What they were doing tonight is what they have been doing for weeks now: Gushing over Carson. Kelly smiling, beaming, wishing him well, agreeing with everything he says, etc. She is indeed the bimbo Trump said she is.) Then a whole array of lined up to take their shots at Trump. Including the dopey Brit Hume, whose inanities are treated like profound wisdom.

Cool.

That's what they do.

What Trump does is attract huge crowds and go up and up in the polls.

I don't think the key issue about Carson's surge is why it may be overblown by Trump's opponents or why it doesn't matter. I think the key Q is why is Carson doing so well?

He is not establishment and well-liked which helps...OTOH he has almost no media exposure, no controversy, no catchy sound bites and isn't packing stadiums. Carson told Levin today it is due to social media, he has millions of followers, more than any other candidate.

I have no idea if that's true, but it made me think back to what Mark Cuban said about Trump, He's a killer but his weakness is technology. Maybe that's true and if Trump (his team) could figure out social media/technology he'd blast even higher?

Jake Tapper is the only one on CNN I can stand, partially because he has some real journalism background instead of just being a "newsreader" (see Megan Kelly, et al), and he gave Jay Carney hell on more than one occasion when he was working the White House beat.

Here's hoping he does a good job moderating. Should be another ratings blockbuster just like the last, regardless.

I guess he figured he's got nothing to lose at this point - it's just a matter of time until he folds his campaign. It should be interesting to see how much lower his poll numbers go after this attack.

Well, the results are in - Jindal did actually go lower, he is at 0 now:

Soooooo, CNN has set up what amounts to a pissing contest where all the other candidates, struggling for some kind of relevance and attention, attack Trump in mass. The flip side of this arrangement is if Trump doesn't screw up, he'll once again suck all the air from the room and walk away with all the attention because he'll be on camera all night.

Early prediction...Rand Paul attacks the most aggressively and loses in the polls afterward the most, and Fiorina wins the debate overall, though that will do little to Trump's numbers.

Sent to me by a 'liberal' friend who is fascinated by the Trump phenomenon....

------------------------
So, I was walking through the mall and I saw there was a "Muslim Book Store." I was wondering what exactly was in a Muslim bookstore so I went in.

As I was wandering around taking a look, the clerk stopped me and asked if he could help me.

I asked, “Do you have a copy of Donald Trump's book on his U.S. Immigration Policy regarding Muslims and Mexicans?"

The clerk said, "Fuck off, get out, and stay out!"

I said, "Yes, that's the one. Do you have it in paperback?”
