Saw that on Fox News this noon. Everyone waving a Mexican flag at an American election rally should have their citizenship checked. I am tired as hell of seeing Mexican flags waved around at rallies in this country. Unless, of course, they have 1824 written across them.

Demonstration? More like a riot but it's all good. Americans will just be more angry by the time November rolls around.

I don't know anything about Pence. But I heard his endorsement, and it sounded like: "I am sort of endorsing Ted Cruz. But I'm kinda endorsing Donald Trump too." Weasely. A further translation: "I am mainly concerned about my own ass in this whole primary thing. So, what can I say so that no matter what happens, my ass is covered?" ______________________________________________________ "You get much farther with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone."

I’m not blaming him for not honoring our promises to the South, but I’m certainly not going give him credit for “ending” the war either. That was the point of my comment. I’m also not going to give him credit for believing that the North would honor their promises. Perhaps, as in Korea, he really had no other option, but his actions weren’t something for Republicans to point to with pride regardless of whether he did it because he foolishly thought the North would do what they promised or because he was forced into it. ► 6.4/93.6 “It is a habit of mankind to entrust to careless hope what they long for, and to use sovereign reason to thrust aside what they do not desire.” — Thucydides; quoted by Victor Davis Hanson, The Second World Wars

The anti-Trump Democrats, Republicans and media have made it seem like any level of violence would be justified to stop this Hitler wanna be and his racist, sexist, homophobic thugs. So, we have not even approached the top end of the level of violence they are prepared to unleash. Chicago was a glimpse. There will be much more to come. ______________________________________________________ "You get much farther with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone."

I was going back to Nam for a second tour in January of 1971. I was held on Okinawa because Nixon was pulling the Marines out of Viet Nam. I had exactly one year to go till retirement. As far as I am personally concerned, Nixon ended the war in Viet Nam. YMMVThis message has been edited. Last edited by: Himiko,

Did you read that long post above that I quoted the statement from in my comment? One of the problems we have is that far too many people believe such statements. I just read part of an article that tried to tar Trump with the Nazi brush, and I’m sure that sort of thing is just getting started. As I pointed out to the person who sent me the link, though, it’s our current crop of socialists and other leftists who are (and have long been) resorting to true National Socialist (Nazi for the uninitiated) tactics to try to silence their opponents. If we don’t remember history and point out when people on our side distort history, then we have no reason to complain when people on the other side do it. ► 6.4/93.6 “It is a habit of mankind to entrust to careless hope what they long for, and to use sovereign reason to thrust aside what they do not desire.” — Thucydides; quoted by Victor Davis Hanson, The Second World Wars

In an interview, Jake Tapper asked H Clinton if she had learned anything about how to take on Trump. Her reply: "I have a lot of experience dealing with men who sometimes get off the reservation in the way they behave and how they speak." My first thought was Bill Clinton

How? By refusing to go to bed with them? I’m sure that would be effective now. ► 6.4/93.6 “It is a habit of mankind to entrust to careless hope what they long for, and to use sovereign reason to thrust aside what they do not desire.” — Thucydides; quoted by Victor Davis Hanson, The Second World Wars
