I read his statement and don't really know what he is doing. He says he does not see a way forward, but does not say he is dropping out of the race.

He needs to clarify at this speech he is going to give on Friday because staying in and pulling votes away from viable candidates when he knows that he cannot win is not cool and I would expect better from him.

Having read that, I'm not entirely sure either. The report I listened to stated unequivocally that he had dropped out.

Now the question is how long Kasich will hang on.

Till the Ohio primary. He'll be gone the next day.

Yep, Kasich's sole purpose at this point is to win Ohio to prevent Trump from getting 1,237 delegates. Ohio has 66 and is winner takes all.

This morning Beck recommended Cruz offer Rubio the VP slot, Mike Lee a Supreme Court slot, Rand Paul the Secretary of the Treasury, and to support Carson to run for Senate in Rubio's slot.

Phone's ringing, Dude.

Beck picked up that behavior from Bill O'Rielly. Bill has the correct answer for everything.

Right now I see it differently. What I see in the end is a Trump/Kasich ticket. And they'll get along just fine. All three of the interested parties.

I see this as a real possibility. I thought Carson would be a good running mate but that would be two "outsiders" on the ticket.

Yes, Americans want change and an "outsider" to win but they secretly want an ole' guard politician to stick around. Someone needs to know where the old skeletons have been buried.

More than likely that would give us Ohio. And we need that.

I see this

Trump has already stated that he wants someone with the political experience necessary to move things through Congress.

That'll not be Cruz, much less Rubio, definitely not Jeb!, and Christie seems in the wings for something else.

Kasich is a "unifier". The link to the GOPe.

Push comes to shove Kasich supports/endorses Trump.

I don't see now a brokered convention. I see brokered peace talks between Trump, the GOPe and Kasich. Trump's a negotiator. And a good one at that.

Btw, Rubio is not going to win Florida. He's just there for the show and then he'll try to run for the Senate again. Don't think he'll make it either. Certainly not against Dr. Carson.

Kasich, despite many faults of his own, has also seemed to be the one man of reason in the last few debates. He's stayed out of the mud slinging (Carson too of course).

He's also already said that he will support whoever is the Republican nominee, meaning he can get behind Trump if that's what it comes down to. That tells me at least that he can see the big picture of what's going on here.

Then, it's a non-issue.

Maybe Trump thought he said "Daisy Dukes"...?

For a non-politician, Trump certainly knows how to play the game.

Not weird, he has spent a lot of time around them. You know...water cooler talk, the weather, NBA playoffs, the new fad in flip-flops...

A Trump/Kasich ticket. No thanks. I love what Donald is doing sticking it to the establishment, but my best guess is that he governs center/left except maybe on amnesty because he made such a big deal about it. So we get basically 2 RINOs on the ticket and give a guy who couldn't get more than 5% of the vote in the primaries a national stage for the next go-around.

Better than Hillary, for sure, but nothing to get excited about.

Except for consultations at 3:00 AM, what else do you think Vice-Presidents do?

Not sure if Mitt is stupid enough to get in, but if he does, Trump will probably humiliate him worse than he did Bush.

Big Grin

Vice-Presidents certainly have a limited measure of power. But no authority.

The way I see it, a Trump/Kasich ticket would be like the Yin/Yang of American politics.

Mitt has already SSFF. (Started, Stumbled, Farted, Fell) I would like to see Trump help him stumble, though.

Mitch McConnell has previously said he would support the Republican presidential nominee, and he did not revise that stance under questioning Tuesday: “Beyond what I just said, I’m going to continue to avoid weighing in on the presidential contest at this point.”

He was asked about a New York Times report published over the weekend indicating that he had privately told his Senate colleagues that GOP senators would drop Trump “like a hot rock” were he to become the presidential nominee.

“I don’t remember saying anything like that to all of you,” McConnell said.

After he was pressed by a reporter, he changed his emphasis slightly: “I don’t remember saying anything like that to all of you.”

https://www.washingtonpost.com...s-on-kkk-david-duke/

sounds like McConnell did say it privately

Trump's biggest asset is if he keeps building voter support and winning, the establishment will (hopefully) recognize the danger in pushing away that set of voters.
