From the article:

He concluded, “Florida charges would be much more serious than the ones the FBI has announced. The TRUTH would be followed, wherever it leads. OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM IS CORRUPT AND DISCREDITED, especially as it pertains to the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump. LET FLORIDA HANDLE THE CASE!”

He has a point. Let's let Florida handle the case.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I believe that according the nomenclature of hyper-technical, SKS-specific analysis, the rifle in-question should be described as, "Bubba-ed out the kazoo."

Kazoo. I can hear it. I can see it.

The SKS is problematic for scope mounting because the dust cover is wobbly. I'll guess that the electrical tape covers geared hose clamps, taking the reflective glint off of the clamps. The clamps could be a good solution for the wobbly dust cover and may also stabilize the action in the flexible moulded stock. Without testing, I'll guess that could improve accuracy.

Probably a good guess. You can see a band of silver peeking out of the rear "mount", and there's suspicious bulges beneath the tape at the very bottom of the receiver where there shouldn't be anything.

Harris, Trump Agree to Separate Town Halls Hosted by Univision

The Spanish-language network said the events will see both candidates field questions from undecided Hispanic voters about key issues.

Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris have each agreed to a separate town hall in early October hosted by Univision, the Spanish-language network announced.

Trump’s town hall will take place on Oct. 8, at 10 p.m. ET in Miami, while Harris’s town hall will be held on Oct. 10, at 10 p.m. ET from Las Vegas, according to Univision.

The events will be moderated by journalist Enrique Acevedo.

Both town halls will air on their respective days with Spanish translation at 10 p.m. ET on Univision and stream on ViX’s Noticias 24/7 channel.

They will also be available in English on Noticias 24/7 Univision’s YouTube channel.

Univision said the audiences in attendance at both town halls will be comprised mainly of undecided Hispanic voters who will ask Trump and Harris questions about important issues facing the community and the nation.

The presidential candidates will need to field questions about issues such as the economy, jobs, health care, immigration, and foreign policy, which remain key issues for voters with less than a month to go until the election, Univision said.

The two events will put an electorate representing close to 15 percent of the United States “front and center,” while creating a “forum exclusively for Latinos,” the network added.

“There are more than 36 million Hispanics eligible to vote in the U.S., making them the largest minority in the country, with the power to influence the outcome of the race for the White House and the future of the nation,” Daniel Coronell, president of Noticias Univision, said in a statement.

Both Miami and Las Vegas are home to large Hispanic populations. Data shows around 70 percent of Miami’s population is Latino, while roughly 34 percent of the population in Las Vegas is Hispanic.

Polls currently indicate that Trump holds a slight lead over Harris in Florida, while the vice president maintains a lead over her Republican rival in Nevada.
The upcoming town halls will take place roughly a month after Trump and Harris held their first and only presidential debate in Philadelphia.

During that Sept. 10 debate, Trump and Harris repeatedly clashed on key issues, including energy, abortion, and foreign policy, such as the war in Ukraine.

Judge Cannon Assigned to Oversee Trump Attempted Assassination Case

Florida Judge Aileen Cannon, who dismissed the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump, is set to oversee the Justice Department’s (DOJ) prosecution of Ryan Routh, the man accused of planning the attempted assassination of the former president.

Court documents show that the DOJ’s Sept. 24 indictment lists Cannon along with Magistrate Judge Ryon McCabe in the Southern District of Florida, the jurisdiction for both Mar-a-Lago and Trump’s Palm Beach golf club where Routh was identified.
Cannon was randomly assigned to the case.

Her involvement will likely draw further attention to an already high-profile case as the Trump-appointed judge has become a lightning rod for media criticism in his ongoing legal battles.

While some praised her decision to dismiss the classified documents case, others criticized i, as well as the pace with which she conducted the pretrial process.

Cannon’s dismissal of the Mar-a-Lago documents case was based on her conclusion that special counsel Jack Smith was unconstitutionally appointed.

The argument is expected to come up in Trump’s federal election interference case in Washington, as well as an appeal by Smith in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.

Routh, 58, has been charged with attempted assassination, along with other counts such as assaulting a Secret Service agent.
He faces potential life imprisonment, the DOJ said in a press release.
Court documents state that Routh had dropped off a box at a civilian’s residence several months ago; inside of which was a letter with the message: “This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump but I am so sorry I failed you.”

In an order of detention pending trial, McCabe said the “weight of the evidence against the defendant is strong.”
Routh, the order said, “has a lengthy criminal history with over a hundred arrests, including convictions for multiple weapons charges and a conviction for possession of a weapon of mass destruction.”

Trump has cast doubt on the DOJ’s ability to prosecute Routh, suggesting a conflict of interest with other cases in which it is prosecuting Trump.

“If the DOJ and FBI cannot do their job honestly and without bias, and hold the aspiring assassin responsible to the full extent of the law, Governor Ron DeSantis and the State of Florida have already agreed to take the lead on the investigation and prosecution,” Trump wrote in a statement on Sept. 23,
DeSantis has said that state law enforcement is investigating the attempted assassination while Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody has urged cooperation from the FBI and DOJ.
In a Sept. 23 letter to the FBI and Markenzy Lapointe, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida, Moody expressed concern that both entities had raised the prospect of asserting federal jurisdiction to quash state efforts in investigating the assassination attempt.

Attorney General Merrick Garland was asked about Trump’s comments during an unrelated press conference announcing the DOJ’s antitrust lawsuit against Visa on Sept. 24.

Garland didn’t directly respond to Trump’s criticisms but said the DOJ was working towards accountability.

“As I said immediately after the event, the Justice Department would spare no resource to ensure accountability in this matter. Since then, our prosecutors and agents ... have been working around the clock to discover the necessary evidence and to ensure accountability,” Garland said.

When asked about Florida law enforcement, he said: “We always seek to cooperate and to get assistance from state and local law enforcement to the extent consistent with the law and appropriate with respect to the investigations.”

Gina Raimondo is a Cabinet Member! She is 10th in line to become President. "Extinguish Trump for good" only has one meaning. She is explicitly calling for the assassination of President Trump. Nothing vague about it. It is illegal. The only difference between her comments and Ryan Routh's letter is Routh offered to pay for it.

Everybody is up in arms about the DOJ releasing Routh's letter because it calls for violence. And then the person who is #10 in the line of succession does the same thing. Unbelievable!

I wrote to both of Iowa's Senators. Please do the same with yours.

I'm in Bucks, up until about a week ago there were no signs for Biden. This past week Harris signs have begun appearing, mostly in the Dem heavy towns.

The rest of the county has more Trump signs than 2020 and 2016, probably combined. There are Trump signs on my street where there were none previously. My area is 3:1 Dems and most are pretty far to the left.

Top University's Students Back a Republican Candidate for First Time In 12 Years

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/...ump-instead-n2645275

Students from a top university abandoned their support for Vice President Kamala Harris and opted to back former President Donald Trump. This is the first time in twelve years that the student body has favored a Republican presidential nominee.

According to a new poll at the University of Notre Dame, 47.6 percent of respondents favored Trump, and 45.9 percent preferred Harris. The survey’s findings are a stark difference from four years ago when 66 percent of the study body favored President Joe Biden compared to Trump’s 29 percent. In 2016, twice-failed Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton secured 59 percent of the support, while Trump only had 24 percent.

Traditionally, college students tend to lean more liberal. However, Americans are beginning to wake up and notice the stark differences between what the country looked like under the Trump Administration and what it’s like under Democrat leadership.

One college student told the survey that the “Last four years are why my family is on welfare.”

“Honestly, the economy really needs to improve from what Biden and Harris are doing because it is becoming very hard to live,” he added.

This comes after a Gallup poll found that more American adults identified as Republican in the third quarter of the presidential year, including elections for the House and Senate-- the first time in recorded U.S. history.

Forty-eight percent of American voters now identify as Republicans or lean Republicans, while 45 percent are Democrats or lean Democrats. In addition, 46 percent of respondents believe the Republican Party can be more trusted to handle important issues, versus 41 percent who say Democrats are the better option.

“The measure has been highly predictive of election outcomes in Gallup trends dating back to 1948. The party rated as better at handling the most important problem has won all but three presidential elections since that year,” the survey noted.

Meanwhile, half of American voters say the GOP is better able to keep America prosperous, compared to 44 percent of Democrats who say the opposite.

“Gallup also tracks perceptions of which party can best handle economic and international matters broadly. Americans currently give the Republican Party a six-percentage-point edge, 50 percent to 44 percent, as the party they think would do a better job of keeping the country prosperous,” the poll found. “Gallup has asked this question since 1951. In 16 presidential elections since then, when one party has had at least a minimal advantage on this measure, that party has won 12 times.”
