Well, it did take him quite a while to come to that conclusion, I must say.

I call him an overly stubborn "classic liberal".

sigmonkey,

In another Dershowitz interview that I posted on the KKKKK thread, towards the end of it Dersh says that he is "Independent" and will make up his mind on how to vote at the 'last minute'.

After his anti-dem rants in several interviews now, this statement comes across as somewhat weak and cowardly, imho.

Does anyone here think Derschowicz may not want to come out and publicly support Trump. When Trump returns to the White House do you think Barry, Soros and the Democrat machine isn't going to try more impeachment shenanigans. Maybe Derschowicz knows if he publicly supports Trump he may have issues with his ability to practice law. I know he's admitted in Massachusetts and New York, as well as many Federal Circuits. There are many who want him gone for being on Trump's first impeachment trial team.

We should be willing to accept anyone who is disenfranchised a place to begin "winning" their mind and soul. Expecting them to step over the line of division with the same insight and outlook as us, will almost always end up with them returning to their "roots" and becoming more resistant to leave once again.

We should stand on principles that are sound and palpable that will attract people to risk the "turn", and not the necks of those who are looking for a reason to "come to stay" that they submit.

The facts are the left does that, but they are patently dishonest, and have no morals when it comes to presenting a lie of who and what they are. Therefore they attract, like a flytrap with deception, and then keep people by feeding them enough of the lie, to keep them.

We need to attract people with honesty, and let people stay for the truth. People are always looking, but if we are seen as angry, bitter, hateful, instead of stoic, firm and receiving of seekers of truth, we get nothing but what we've earned.

It's similar to Para's position on negativity. Sure, there are things of concern, but if they are merely demoralizing hand wringing and pearl clutching, they serve no benefit to determined focus on the fight.

Both sides of battle have those who are fighting.
Many battles are won by the will and determination of one, and lost by the defeat in the mind of the other.

Alan D. is a relic of the time when Republicans were seen as WASP's (White Anglo-Saxon Protestants) who ran Wall Street, Big Law Firms, and Corporations, and discriminated against Jews and Catholics. The old "country club" set. Just like the southerners who died as old Conservative Democrats, he will never officially be a Republican, even if he votes Republican.

I love Tulsi Gabbard. This is from 2019 on The View. She is working very closely with Trump, and I hope he gives her a high position in his cabinet.

sigmonkey,

Thank you for your reply, and I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments expressed in your entire post.

It is definitely a positive to see Dershowitz coming to realize what the Democrat party has become, and he is rightfully disgusted with it for what he saw at the DNC, but also the D’s gross perversions with ‘the law’ and ‘justice’ as it were, for many years now.

That said, with the critical importance of this election, not just for the United States and the world at large, but the future safety, security and support of Israel is of great concern to me, as well as how Jewish people are treated in the USA and around the world.

I am shocked, as well as you and many others, at the steep rise in anti-Semitism in recent years, which did not occur in an innocent vacuum.

It is from this perspective and the fact that the election is just under two months away, that Alan Dershowitz could have a large and significant impact to help bring the ‘Jewish vote’ over to President Trump if he endorses him sooner rather that later (and likely other D’s as well).

Maybe his declared support for President Trump could make a difference or maybe not, but these are extraordinary times with too much at stake.

With the High Holidays coming up, this type of conversation around the Rosh Hashanah dinner table and the Yom Kippur break-fast meal could be a very positive things.

Dersh’s declared support for PDJT would be a great ‘ice breaker’ to start the conversation amongst family.

My own immediate family, including Aunts, Uncles and Cousins are hard-core dems, and I am certain that my pleas and reasoning will fall on deaf ears with them, as they always do. Trust me, it’s quite infuriating, and I. DON’T. GET. IT.

Oy vey!

Respectfully,

Rob

I wasn't very sure about her at first, but I've changed my mind; I really, really like her now! I just hope she's not a wolf in sheep's clothing...

Thanks for the reply. (we were not in disagreement, just talking about about the different parts of the elephant)

As for the last, I just never give up. People may see me "fighting a losing battle" or "wasting time on fruitless endeavor", but if I quit, I have lost all invested, and in this life, somethings are worth every bit of time spent on them.

One willing to spend a career in the military, preparing for and doing all in order to preserve that which is dear, should I quit on this fight for even one more person to vote in a manner that is for the good of this nation and the future Americans, it is the best use of some of my time.

It costs me very little, but the benefit, if realized, is on order of magnitude.

And Dershowitz is making waves, even if he did not make a bold proclamation, the fact that he has broken rank and file, has not gone unnoticed.

Even an atomic explosion starts as an insignificant event, compared to the result.

Piece from the NY Post on tomorrow's debate with Kamala Biden:

quote:

How Trump plans to attack Kamala Harris at Philadelphia debate

By Diana Glebova
Published Sep. 9, 2024, 12:10 p.m. ET
NY Daily News

Former President Donald Trump wants to make Vice President Kamala Harris answer for her record in public office during Tuesday night’s debate, beginning with her tenure as San Francisco district attorney and continuing through her rise to a heartbeat from the presidency, the Republican campaign told The Post Monday.

“Kamala Harris will be made to defend her crazy liberal record,” Trump campaign senior adviser Tim Murtaugh told The Post, offering a preview of the 45th president’s tactics at Philadelphia’s National Constitution Center

“She will not be able to escape from it. By the end of this debate, everyone will know her record.”

Trump, 78, has previously said he has not prepped for the ABC News forum in the traditional sense and indicated he will decide his ultimate strategy at the last minute.

On Monday, Murtaugh also predicted that Harris will try to distance herself from having been the unpopular Biden’s vice president for three and a half years, but will not be “permitted” to do so by Trump.

“That point will be made clear,” Murtaugh said.

The job facing Harris became apparent following the publication of a New York Times/Siena College poll Sunday, which found 61% of likely voters want the next president to be a “major change” from the 81-year-old Biden — and 55% saying Harris represented “more of the same.”

In the veep’s only major pre-debate interview, held Aug. 29 with CNN’s Dana Bash, Harris tried to explain away her apparent tack to the center on several policies by insisting that “my values have not changed.”

“That means that everything she did in her prior career leading up to this point is brought into the present day,” Murtaugh said Monday. “That means she is the San Francisco liberal she always was. She’s just pretending not to be that.”

Another Trump campaign official told The Post that Trump will go hard at Harris’ record during her seven years as the top prosecutor in the City by the Bay.

“Kamala Harris is going to have to remember the names of the people whose lives were lost in San Francisco due to her weak-on-crime policies,” this person said. “She’s going to have to be prepared to answer for why criminals like Edwin Ramos were free to kill. She’ll have to explain to the nation why she wanted to give drug dealers a get-out-of-jail-free card.

“President Trump is not going to let her get away with the lie that she is some law-and-order prosecutor.”

Edwin Ramos was an illegal immigrant from El Salvador who killed dad Tony Bologna and his two sons, Michael and Matthew, in 2008.

Ramos had a juvenile criminal record prior to the murders, having been involved in a gang-related assault of a bus passenger and the attempted robbery of a pregnant woman.

In both cases, local juvenile probation officers did not involve federal immigration authorities because it was not San Francisco policy to question a youngster’s legal status at the time.

“These crimes, these criminals, these specific cases, she’s going to have to answer for,” Murtaugh said.

Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller said the Republican nominee will call out both Harris’ record as VP and her avoidance of the media.

“The high-bar expectations facing Kamala Harris is that for every new idea put forward, Harris has to explain both the damage she’s done to our economy as the sitting vice president, as well as answer why she hasn’t implemented any of these new plans during the last 3 1/2 years,” Miller said in a statement.

“Further complicating matters is that Harris’ new Obama campaign advisors have told her to hide from the press for two months, further raising expectations for the voters. The one thing we do know, however, is that Kamala Harris’ values have not changed, and we will be educating the American public as to what that means policy-wise, in great detail.”

For her part, Harris has said she will depict Trump as more concerned with his own ambition than the American people.

“We should be prepared for the fact that he is not burdened by telling the truth,” Harris told the “Rickey Smiley Morning Show” in an interview broadcast Friday.

“He tends to fight for himself, not for the American people, and I think that’s going to come out during the course of the debate.”

The Democratic campaign was handed a loss last week when ABC News refused their request to change the rules and leave both candidate mics unmuted.

The Harris campaign did not respond to an inquiry from The Post.
