We know that during campaign season USSS officers quickly rack-up work hours that would normally cross into normal overtime work rules, but given their unique line of work, they have a different pay structure that sort of (not really) makes up for that; kindof like fireman. Going beyond those work schedules, officers are rotated in/out in order to avoid burn-out; who does the augmentation and backfilling....not sure, and therein lies one of the possible issues.

Doing EP work is pretty hard it has certainly has its perks but usually its painfully-numbingly boring due to the passivity of the role; I heard the only armed job that is worse is being a Federal Air Marshall.

Far fetched indeed. The sheriff's deputy who scaled the roof lost his grip when he ducked to avoid the shooter who was aiming a rifle in his direction. As a result, the deputy fell to the ground receiving a serious ankle injury. While difficult to prove, he may have distracted the shooter just enough to save the day.

by the sound of that i think i'll stick to my take

Steep roof, huh? Funny, it didn't look like they had any problems walking around up there around the shooter's body.

I wonder if the deputy drawing the shooters attention away for even a second maybe made him rush his shots and miss. I believe the early reports said he pointed his rifle at the cop then shots rang out seconds later. Maybe the shooter realized his time was running out and just rushed it, potentially causing him to “miss”.

that's exactly what i thought when i first hear of it, the perp maybe determined he had very little time at that moment

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I'm not sure he missed. Rather Trump turned his head. Unless in reality he was aiming for center mass. Then he missed.

I hope he does. My fear is he listens to his "advisors".
Trump may not have a great "Brain to mouth" filter, so what, he wasn't elected to be nice, but I trust him. His advisors, not so much. They are too worried about playing politics.

I'll just post to aide. He's not saying anything new just articulating on what he observed given his background.
I'm not a fan of Kennedy, his opinions around private firearm ownership and his eagerness to provide 'his opinion' is a turn-off.

Thanks for the help. I particular liked his analysis of the SS shooters actions. Him possibly not being in live combat. I also hadnt seen the pic of the SS woman hiding behind the stage. No exfil plan.

This "steep roof" horse shit demonstrates quite clearly how stupid and dishonest this woman is. She needs to go. She won't resign, so President Trump will need to fire her. I can't wait.

The night of the shooting, Laura Ingraham said that it was either incompetence, or something much worse – malice. Now, three days beyond that, it seems to me that is the only reasonable position.

Based on everything we know now, I don't see how one possibility or the other can be absolutely ruled out.

Incompetence will be shocking. Malice will bring walls down.

Not nearly as distracting as putting his pistol over the edge of the roof and popping off a few shots at the perp would have been.

Pictures seem to show that Crooks took a backpack onto the roof. Wonder what the contents were?

A multi-feed video montage assembled by MilkBarTV, which has been viewed more than 3.5 million times on X, shows the attempted assassination play out in real time using clips from several vantage points.

In it, more than 120 excruciating seconds pass between rallygoers first spotting Crooks on the roof and the moment he fires his rifle. Perhaps most disturbingly, the people who saw the would-be assassin repeatedly tried to alert law enforcement patrolling nearby.

The surreal footage echoes what several witnesses told reporters after the shooting: Some rally attendees were aware of Crooks’ presence well before he fired.
