That article appears to be a year old and I'm still at home Another CDC article that appears to the the flip side of the coin. For Immediate Release: Tuesday, August 3, 2021 Contact: Media Relations (404) 639-3286 CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky today signed an order determining the evictions of tenants for failure to make rent or housing payments could be detrimental to public health control measures to slow the spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. This order will expire on October 3, 2021 and applies in United States counties experiencing substantial and high levels of community transmission levels of SARS-CoV-2. The eviction moratorium allows additional time for rent relief to reach renters and to further increase vaccination rates. In the context of a pandemic, eviction moratoria—like quarantine, isolation, and social distancing—can be an effective public health measure utilized to prevent the spread of communicable disease. Eviction moratoria facilitate self-isolation and self-quarantine by people who become ill or who are at risk of transmitting COVID-19 by keeping people out of congregate settings and in their own homes. CDC remains committed and will continue to explore and use all of the tools at our disposal to protect the health and well-being of Americans affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The order can be found at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronaviru...ion-declaration.html. The below can be attributed to CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky: The emergence of the delta variant has led to a rapid acceleration of community transmission in the United States, putting more Americans at increased risk, especially if they are unvaccinated. This moratorium is the right thing to do to keep people in their homes and out of congregate settings where COVID-19 spreads. It is imperative that public health authorities act quickly to mitigate such an increase of evictions, which could increase the likelihood of new spikes in SARS-CoV-2 transmission. Such mass evictions and the attendant public health consequences would be very difficult to reverse. https://www.cdc.gov/media/rele...-eviction-order.html

I laughed out loud at the last sentence in this article!
Truthfully I'm surprised they are even reporting this. But because they are so I'm assuming it's most likely worse. I think it was Dr. Cole who said this is exactly what will happen. So 57 deaths out of 5600 is almost exactly 1% while the survival rate from the start with no vaccination was less than half that. While 514 hospitalizations is nearly 10% of 5600. But it's safe and effective. Link "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

Wait... I thought we were just ignorant rubes in flyover country?? Study Finds Most Highly Educated Americans Are Also the Most Vaccine Hesitant Narrative fail. Paul Joseph Watson A new report by researchers at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh has found that the most highly educated Americans are also the most vaccine hesitant. The researchers canvassed no fewer than 5 million Americans who responded to surveys on whether they were “probably” or “definitely not planning on getting a COVID vaccine. The results will shock many. “More surprising is the breakdown in vaccine hesitancy by level of education,” reports UnHerd. “It finds that the association between hesitancy and education level follows a U-shaped curve with the highest hesitancy among those least and most educated. People a master’s degree had the least hesitancy, and the highest hesitancy was among those holding a PhD.” In addition, while the lowest educated saw the largest drop in vaccine hesitancy for the first five months of 2021, those with PhD’s were the most likely to not change their minds. The study also reveals that the most common concern for those who are hesitant to take the vaccine is potential side-effects, with a lack of trust in government close behind in second. The results of the investigation completely debunk the notion, amplified by media narratives, that only “dumb” people are vaccine hesitant. It also demolishes NYT White House correspondent Annie Karni’s characterization of elitists who attended Obama’s 60th birthday party by as “sophisticated, vaccinated.” How many of them haven’t taken the vaccine? Meanwhile, the meme has been proven correct... https://summit.news/2021/08/11...st-vaccine-hesitant/ "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

This is emerging as another consequence of the lock downs and mask wearing. But their advice is to double down on masks, sanitation and social distancing. Niswonger Children’s Hospital chief medical officer says RSV cases surging among infants, young children https://www.wjhl.com/news/loca...ants-young-children/ JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Delta Variant of COVID-19 is not the only virus putting the children of the Tri-Cities at risk. Health officials say they are seeing a surge in RSV cases in the region. Ballad Health reports they diagnosed more than 70 cases of RSV in infants and young children in the past 10 days, and many of them are hospitalized. “So we don’t really know why,” said Dr. Patricia Chamber, Cheif Medical Officer at Niswonger Children’s Hospital. “Usually, we see a spike in RSV or respiratory syncytial virus in the winter months. For some reason, across the United States, it has decided to come early. And as such, we’re seeing a ton of respiratory illness in infants and small children.” Dr. Chambers says children spending a year social distancing to protect against COVID-19 has left their immune systems vulnerable. “We did spend a year, socially distancing and masking, doing really good hand hygiene,” said Dr. Chambers. “And then whenever we took off the masks and came out in public, it was a very good opportunity for infectious diseases to spread on the infants and young children.” Dr. Chambers says there are things parents can do to protect their kids against RSV. “Number one thing when you have an infant or a small child is trying to keep them away from germs,” Dr. Chambers said. “Second is good hand hygiene. Washing your hands before you feed your baby, washing off your baby’s pacifiers, washing off any surfaces that you know your baby’s going to touch. Masking and social distancing don’t just help with COVID.” https://www.wjhl.com/news/loca...ants-young-children/ _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." Amusing but I'm not sure I agree w/ the inverted bell curve. I'm probably in the lower right of the inverted bell curve but believe I could be categorized as one of the most hesitant. There are multiple aspects influencing acceptance or hesitancy - the chart is too simplistic. There is correlation perhaps but not causal. https://newsrescue.com/forget-...-oxford-group-video/ Forget Herd Immunity, Mutant May Spread Faster in Vaccinated; Covid’s Here to Stay – Andrew Pollard, Covid Vax Developer, Head of Oxford Group [VIDEO] Professor Sir Andrew Pollard told MPs in the all-party parliamentary group on coronavirus that although 95% vaccination would stop transmission of measles, the same was not true for COVID. He warned that this means “anyone still unvaccinated at some point will meet the virus”. Herd immunity is when enough people become resistant to a disease – through vaccination or previous exposure – that it can no longer significantly spread among the rest of the population. Sir Andrew said the vaccine might slow the spread of coronavirus, but as the Delta variant – first identified in India – is highly transmissible, jabs will not contain it altogether. “We know very clearly with coronavirus that this current variant, the Delta variant, will still infect people who have been vaccinated and that does mean that anyone who’s still unvaccinated, at some point, will meet the virus,” he told MPs. “I think we are in a situation here with this current variant where herd immunity is not a possibility because it still infects vaccinated individuals.” Sir Andrew said the next thing might be “a variant which is even better at transmitting in vaccinated populations”, adding: “So, that’s even more of a reason not to be making a vaccine programme around herd immunity.” However, the Oxford Vaccine Group director also said there was likely to be “increasing confidence” about the UK’s coronavirus situation. He told the APPG: “I think this next six months is a really important consolidation phase and in that shift from the epidemic to the endemic, which is the living with COVID. “That doesn’t mean that we live with it and put up with it – we still have to manage those cases of patients who become unwell with it.” Video at link. _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." They make it sound like if you get the virus, it’s a death sentence. Sure, it can be serious. But if 99% survive, that’s probably better odds than walking across a city street. Frankly, I’m more scared of drinking the water in Mexico or China. Or traveling to Africa with all the weird virus’s there (ebola, tsetse, etc). Yikes. Hope he gets better. Other than you, I don’t know anybody who has a had hint of it since all this started. Although, I actually wonder if I had it. I chalked up a period last year to severe allergies. But I think I lost my sense of taste and smell for a period. But I also had sinus issues so…… To expand a little: I don’t know of anybody who has had this, including people known to friends or family. Or even at work. The only thing I hear about (from a medical practitioner) are people who have been affected by the vaccine and coming in for treatment for various issues. Even a friend who lived in the SF area - knows nobody who actually got sick. You seem to have a statistically high rate of incident proximity.
