The first court challenges of Governor Whitmer fail. She can continue her emergency power without legislative oversight.

That ruling makes no sense. The judge at the same time concedes Whitmer broke the law and asserts the Legislature's complaint she did so was meritless. Say what?

What's odd about this is that, in the first hearing, the judge openly expressed skepticism of the Governor's legal team's arguments. Now she's ruled in their favor? Something wrong with this picture.

And this court decision will only encourage Whitmer to continue the tyranny.
Lawful (maybe) or not, the quarantining of healthy
people across the entire state was not justified or necessary.

I had fond memories of Michigan as a kid. If I lived there now and had the means I would move. Restriction of civil liberties to an insane degree by a demagogue.

Air Force One should do a low level pass over the Capitol building and/or anywhere else the Governor may be at that time.

That's because Whitler killed the program out of spite when the Legislature wouldn't go along with the massive tax hikes she demanded to "fix the damn roads."

That's right: She killed a program that was a net economic benefit to both businesses and the State because she didn't get her way.

Sad. Those ads were effective with me reviving the nosalgia. Have not been now in over thirty years. I remember when Romney was Governor and the Mackinac bridge opened. I had a good friend in Bloomfield Hills that I visited over one Christmas.

Mississippi has its problems, but trampling on civil liberties is not one of them. Property taxes are low, it is Second Amendment friendly and folks basically leave you alone. Here on the Coast things are very laid back and crime is low.

Yeah ... appointed by Jennifer Granholm. Roll Eyes

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Interesting....
She was appointed to the court in 2008 by Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm.

Whitmer was part of Granholm's administration and learned how to rule from her.

Yep, something's amiss here. This judge is likely not the sharpest knife in the drawer but my bet she got her decision from someone at the state capital.

And that right there is the problem. These mask edicts ARE NOT STATE LAW, they are “guidance” or “mandates” pushed by state governors and others but were not anything put into law.

Around here it’s not uncommon to see signs stating that it’s “state law” now to wear a mask before going into a store but it’s just not true. Roll Eyes
