It's crazy but it will appeal to a specific type of customer, those who feel Masks and overbearing oversight is the salvation to safety, that no intrusion is invasive enough when it's done for the "right cause"

Went into work for a couple of hours today. Walking through the mall was weird. All but a few food places, and nearly every retail place were closed, even had the escalators turned off. Got to the place I was working before store opened and did my work before the store had it's first customer.

Got in a huge two hours today. I asked the store manager if there were many other stores open in the mall and she named off like three or four stores but the Pacific Sun store across the way had the lights on for the first time in months. Got home and was talking with boss over interoffice messaging app, he told me the store I was in didn't have permission to be open and just said fuck it and opened anyways.

Guess we've gone from civil disobedience to corporate disobedience now.

That's encouraging! I read that Hawaii is still adamant about lockdown and says don't come. Not gonna be a problem for me.

Not sure I would believe anything the CDC says. I have always assumed that foreign surfaces are contaminated in some way/shape/form - I just don't panic over it.

But tourism is just about the entire economy of Hawaii. Of course they'll be looking for a handout from Uncle Sugar.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

You're missing the point. Fauci and crew told us that the bug can live on surfaces for hours and infect people. Now the CDC (i.e. a government agency people will listen to because, its a government agency) says something to the contrary. Both of these teams are supposedly on the same side of the equation, but they're sending conflicting info. So tell me once again, what is an 'expert', and why should we listen to any of them?

My son and DIL live there (Oahu and the Big Island) and he stated it sucks because, as a Haole, when he goes to work, the stares are rather notable (unless he's with his wife, then he's okay).

I was supposed to be surfing last month there. I rebooked for October and I'm fucking going if I have to wear a biohazard suit on the plane.

I'm still pissed off looking at our county stats. 1.035 million people and something like 1047 reported or confirmed cases. That is .001 of our county population. Fuck you politicians, open up the got damn gyms and shit. I'm ready to go to the water park too (season pass) so I can train for surfing in the wave pool and stare at ass all day! Covid deez nuts!

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the statement about the virus living on surfaces for a long time come from WHO and that it came from a Chinese study? That was sometime in early March I think.

The study came from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in Hamilton MT and was published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Which is, BTW, Dr Fauci's organization.

As far as these losers, an expert is more properly spelled ex-spurt, and is a past tense, high pressure water leak. There is no why. The correct answer is that you should not listen to any of them. You should gather your own information, make your own decisions, and live your life in a way that you feel adequately balances the risks and rewards. This is the last darned thing that the lefties want to see happen of course. Sigh...

Thank you gentlemen for posting that info. You beat me to the punch. Long story short, we're being scammed by these morons at every turn, hence the reason I'm no longer listening to any of them, most notably that Fauci character.

Point of order... If the point of wearing a mask is to contain the virus ridden spewage that could potentially infect others, why do we have to social distance?

Isn't the point of social distancing to stay 6' away so uncontaminated
spew can't reach you?
