Haha. That took me a second.

And yes, what can anyone say to me for wearing a mesh lingerie mask? Are there some standards I'm required by law to adhere to? Does Delta provide the specific specifications for the masks? No. Like Para said. Security theater for idiots. I'm all too happy to expose it with my mesh lingerie mask. Cost me $2.50 all together. That's about right for the price of admission to this comedic horror show we've been subjected to these past few months.

I’ve seen people on Facebook talking about making masks out of one layer of cheesecloth which is about as thin and breathable as it gets. If our dictator asshole Governor is still making people wear them this summer, that’s what I’m going with.

Outstanding! So far, while I keep various masks with me, I've been able to buck the trend and haven't worn a mask in public yet. Walked right past the sign at the entrance of the grocery store asking everyone not to enter without a mask...and while we were the minority there were several people without masks shopping or standing in line. I even had a couple quick friendly exchanges with others in the non-social distancing line...but, at some point, I'm sure I'll get some pushback...and that mesh mask makes the perfect fashion statement. But I'm going to try to find a different color...I just don't look good in white anymore and I want my fashion accessory to look sharp. Cool

Thanks for the tip!

Saw this gem the other day at a local custard stand- plague mask Big Grin notice he’s the only one wearing any mask at all. And somehow, WV has one of the lowest number of positive cases in the nation...

Oh boy...

13 USS Theodore Roosevelt sailors test positive after recovering from Covid-19 The Navy also reports one crew member has tuberculosis.
quote:
Thirteen sailors aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt have tested positive again for Covid-19 after recovering from the disease and returning to the ship, which has been stranded in Guam since late March after an outbreak of the virus, according to two U.S. defense officials.

The Roosevelt's crew began returning to the ship in late April after spending a month either in quarantine or isolation in Guam. But sailors in early May began showing symptoms of the virus, such as a cough and fever, despite testing negative twice.

Some of the sailors who returned to the ship showed expanded symptoms, including body aches and headaches, according to one official. This has slowed the move back onto the ship, as all sailors who return must have been symptom-free for three days and have tested negative twice, as well as completed their isolation period.

CNN first reported on Thursday that five sailors had tested positive after reboarding the ship, so the new number means the positive cases have more than doubled. The 13 Covid-positive sailors have been removed from the ship and are back in isolation on U.S. Naval Base Guam, according to the officials.

"This week, a small number of TR Sailors who previously tested COVID positive and met rigorous recovery criteria have retested positive," said Navy spokesperson Cmdr. Myers Vasquez. "These protocols resulted in a small number of close contacts who were also removed from the ship, quarantined and tested.

"The ship remains on the road to recovery and will prepare to get back underway once a critical mass of crew with the required expertise is onboard," said Vasquez.

Tests are not 100% accurate, far from it actually. They may have gotten false positives before, but not really had the virus, and now have it, or the tests now could be false positives. I don't trust the media to get the actual facts straight when they can continue to stoke the fear of "no immunity after recovering".

Second, how does anyone get into active service in the US military, and go to 3rd world countries, without having been vaccinated for Tuberculosis?

Third, things never change - a bunch of sailors got shore leave in Vietnam and came back to the ship with a variety of infections. Wonder how many got the good old clap?

Ayup, Russia just overtook Spain in total cases and is now second only to the US. But overall, active case count is dropping in a lot of countries now. In several it looks like numbers are stabilizing after about a 90 percent reduction as they open up, which can probably be sustained indefinitely by their healthcare systems.

US - still rising

Russia - still rising

Spain - 44 percent in 23 days

Brazil - still rising

Italy - 35 percent in 27 days

France - 5 percent in 18 days

Germany - 79 percent in 40 days

Switzerland - 91 percent in 46 days

Sweden - rising again after 15 percent drop 12 days ago

Singapore - 9 percent in four days

Ireland - 80 percent in 26 days

Israel - 64 percent in 31 days

Austria - 89 percent in 43 days

Japan - 55 percent in 18 days

South Korea - 87 percent in 65 days

Denmark - 68 percent in 36 days

Had to pick up some bulbs for a bathroom light and went to Menards. I was told I had to wear a mask and the people at the service desk would sell me one. I said no way would I do that and went to Lowes. All of our Walmarts are open and no masks and neither was Lowes requiring it. Gotta love crazy huh.

well in Hong Kong they started wearing mask almost immediately when this started. They have a very low death and infection rate.

I wonder what the reaction would be if all of the retired hockey goalies from the '60s, '70s, and '80s who wore (and often decorated) their form-fitting Fiberglas masks wore them while out shopping and running errands.

Gerry Cheevers would probably have most of the women and children (and some of the men) running and screaming.
