Mesa City PD opens investigation into death of Gary Lenius whose wife, Wanda, said she served him a deadly cocktail to ward off coronavirus

The Mesa City Police Department's homicide division is investigating the death of Gary Lenius, the Arizona man whose wife served him soda mixed with fish tank cleaner in what she claimed was a bid to fend off the coronavirus. A detective handling the case confirmed the investigation to the Washington Free Beacon on Tuesday after requesting a recording of the Free Beacon's interviews with Lenius's wife, Wanda.

Gary Lenius, 68, died on March 22. Wanda, 61, told several news outlets last month that both she and her husband had ingested a substance used to clean aquariums after hearing President Donald Trump tout one of its ingredients, chloroquine phosphate, from the White House briefing room.

Detective Teresa Van Galder, the homicide detective handling the case for the Mesa City Police Department, confirmed that the investigation is ongoing but declined to provide additional details.

"As this is an active investigation, I cannot go into any details at this time regarding the case," Van Galder said. The Free Beacon provided a recording of its interview last month with Wanda Lenius.

News of the police probe comes after a series of Free Beacon stories raised questions about the portrayal of the couple in the initial NBC News report that vaulted the story onto the national stage.

In case you’re not up to speed, all of the headlines at the time shouted that a man had died and his wife was in the ICU after they ingested a drug that President Trump had hyped up as a possible treatment for COVID-19 — you had to actually read the stories to find out that the wife had given her husband fish-tank cleaner mixed into soda. The wife quickly blamed Trump: “We saw Trump on TV — every channel — and all of his buddies and that this was safe,” she said. “Trump kept saying it was basically pretty much a cure.”

The Free Beacon’s Alan Goodman looked into the story a little deeper, interviewing the wife, Wanda Lenius, who said it was “really kind of a spur of the moment thing” and that they were going to the doctor to have his leg looked at and didn’t want to pick up the coronavirus at the clinic.

Now the Mesa City Police Department’s homicide division is looking into it

^^^^ That woman 100% murdered her husband. She's a hardcore leftist democrat and apparently had been trying to divorce her husband. Stephen Crowder was all over that story. She's mental.

Archive footage from China’s state media shows scientists from a mysterious virus lab in Wuhan studying ‘a novel coronavirus found in bats’ two years ago.

The video report, aired on state broadcaster CCTV in 2018, has sparked controversy since it was reposted onto the internet after the emergence of COVID-19, which is also caused by a novel coronavirus.

Shi Zhengli, a lead researcher from the institute, told reporters that the pathogen featured in the clip was different from the strain of coronavirus that has triggered the pandemic.

Here in CA, Newsom, whom I applauded for his light touch and cooperation with Trump early on, now is digging in his heels. He has a 100-person task force on restarting the economy—led by Tom Steyer. He is delaying re-opening businesses despite peoples’ willingness to wear masks and follow socialist distancing guidelines.
I think he’s lost his nerve; but judging by cars on the roads, there’s a whole lot more “essential” travel now than a week ago.

The lack of any clusters of infection in the grocery stores and other businesses that remain open is a strong argument (as if any were needed) that it’s safe to allow businesses to re-open within public health guidelines.

The testing thing, I’ve decided, is just another excuse to keep us locked down.

I’m a senior like many of us here, and despite being at high risk because of that, I am disgusted and appalled that Newsome is keeping the lid on. Or thinks he is. There is push back, and it will only get louder.

So when it becomes common knowledge that this shutdown had zero to do with a virus and was all about wealth redistribution and politics will we finally stand up for ourselves and remove these commie dictators?

Well, my wife usually chooses what we watch (I don’t care one way or another). What’s funny is that CNN finally went too far and she shut it down.

I’d just like to see their feet held to the fire to choose. Either you are a platform or you are a publisher.

If you are a platform, you are just a platform and MAY NOT censor content that you don’t like. You have to leave all the conservative stuff up too.

If you are a publisher, then you are liable for what you publish. You can be sued just like any other publisher when you go out of bounds.

I’m totally fine with you (facepalm, Twatter, ewetoob, etc) choosing be a platform or be a publisher. I’m not fine with you claiming the protections and immunities of one while enjoying the privileges of the other.

Same here, luckily we both hate watching the news. Probably watched 1.5 hours of news since this who pandemic thing started in January.

How far will the commies go to test the will of the people? I suggest the commies have already gone too far and the people of this great nation are accepting of far too much.

Yeah, as a CA resident I am of two minds. On the one hand I really hate to see friends and business acquaintances further impacted by this nonsense. On the other hand, I wonder if the GDCs can actually push things so far beyond the pale that those Democrat voters who are nearer to the center realize how insane their party has become and come to the sane side.

Exactly!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

The virus does not frighten me, but the new normal and its social distancing commissars do.

Why the hell do I feel like I am living in the DDR? I freakin avoided that place all my life, except for 4 transits via bus and rail, never touching its Bolshevik, temporally stained soil.

It only stands to reason that where there's sacrifice, there's someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there's service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master.

Did you know the State of PA had to procure two new vehicles for something and HAD TO GO TO OHIO to buy them because Governor Numbnuts shut down ALL CAR SALES, even online?

Do you have a link about buying the cars out of state? I couldn't find one and wanted to share it.
