CNN is talking about it, and of course brought up a waiting period for firearms- I assume that’s how he did it.

Depression is a bitch I guess. I don’t have it, so it baffles me how anyone could take their own life.

Was never a huge fan but the couple 2 - 3 shows I saw were ok.

Not sure what is up in the celebs water these day, they all seem to be offing themselves.

He hanged himself. In France.

”Bourdain was in France working on an upcoming episode of his award-winning CNN series "Parts Unknown." His close friend Eric Ripert, the French chef, found Bourdain unresponsive in his hotel room Friday morning.”

Somehow I doubt he had a legal firearm with him in France...?

Probably just CNN using anything they can to fan the flames. Ops normal, even when one of their own is the cannon fodder.

I'm a fan of Bourdain. I enjoyed his book "No Reservations", his commentary on Top Chef years back, as well as his TV shows.

I was hoping BJJ was going to be his new vice and would keep him around for a while longer.

And yet, for some unforeseen reason, a talking head (or maybe visitor) took it upon herself to use the suicide to mention suicide involving guns in passing. Exactly my point as above. Nice of them to use his memory for a continuing agenda.

Political discussion is allowed in this thread. I don't think it can be avoided when discussing this matter.

Bourdain was a leftist, with all the silly preconceptions that go along with that form of mental illness.

Sad, I just don't get it. But, I guess, that's part of the point.

I very much enjoyed Kitchen Confidential . It was an amusing and enlightening read, and also got me into making some much more bizarre and tasty sandwiches!!
