If you haven't seen the video of Will and Jada Smith talking about her cucking him, there it is. To say she's a narcissist is an understatement.

Mrs. Narcissist manipulated him into doing it with one look.

That was an excellent summary.

Mrs Smith is not a virtuous woman. Chris Rock was not slamming Betty White or Mother Theresa. And, from what I've read here, Rock could have done MUCH worse than making a hair joke.

Smith is a whipped man acting out of impotent rage. And now his wife is a national laughing stock, whereas had he said nothing, NOBODY outside the audience would ever have known about her 'condition' and her sleeping around. We certainly would not be discussing it 3 days later. . .

They will be talking about this for years. Next Oscars. Next Will Smith movie. It is classic Streisand Effect.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (AMPAS) said the investigation into Will Smith’s assault against comedian Chris Rock will “take a few weeks.”

In a statement on Tuesday evening, the Academy president David Rubin and CEO Dawn Hudson said that top members of the organization “are upset and outraged” by Will Smith’s actions on Sunday night when he stormed the stage and slapped comedian Chris Rock for making a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith’s haircut.

“We are upset and outraged that those moments were overshadowed by the unacceptable and harmful behavior on stage by a nominee,” the statement said. “To be clear, we condemn Mr. Smith’s actions that transpired Sunday night.”

After Smith stormed the stage and assaulted Rock, he screamed obscenities at Rock, accepted the award for Best Actor, and appeared, in his acceptance speech, to condone his behavior by saying “love will make you do crazy things.”

Smith later attended the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty and danced the night away.

In between dancing and performing his own hit songs, Will Smith told the Hollywood Reporter “It’s been a beautiful night.”

There's a big difference making jokes about a random person minding their own business vs. a celebrity sitting front and center at an awards show. Every year these award shows hire a comedian to host and there is an expectation, no a duty, to poke fun at everyone in attendance as they have done for decades. This is the first time in the history of award shows for anyone, let alone a star as big as Will Smith, to physically assault and batter the host over a GI Jane joke that he was laughing at not even 10 seconds earlier.

Honest question for those who think Chris Rock was out of line: have you ever seen a celebrity roast? There's swearing, there's sexual vulgarity, shots below the belt, brutally honest truths, actual racism/sexism etc. Chris Rock's GI Jane joke was TAME. On a scale of 1-10 it's a 0.5.

And the goal of a "roast" is to poke fun, in fun, not seriousness, and not be mean. I completely give Chris Rock the benefit of the doubt that he didn't know that Jada's haircut had anything to do with alopecia.

Well, maybe not the slap itself, but the aftermath was Donald's fault. A CNN reporter blames Trump, because nobody walked out of the auditorium in protest afterwards.

Here's the link, if you want to read it, but I'll warn you. It's not just stupid. It's CNN level stupid!

If they really want to boost their ratings for next year’s Oscars, have Ricky Gervais emcee it. I’d tune in for that.

Don't apologize. Just STOP doing this shit! Use your head! THINK before you post. How many times have I said that? You think it's a Goddamned campaign slogan or something? THINK before you post. Type out your post, then stop and read the thing and then ask yourself if there's anything in it which might cause me to put my foot is your ass!!

- Why is a person allowed to say horribly offensive and enticing things, literally begging for a fight with no penalty. They are in fact inciting a violent response and putting their 'victim' in a disadvantaged position?

You talk out of both sides of your mouth. You say you think Smith's response was inappropriate but that ridicule crossing the "line" incites a violent (read: physical) response. Look how fallacious the premise of your question is. Who is saying there is no penalty for saying insulting inappropriate things? In your world, the penalty must be physical?

Yes, any ridicule, anywhere, anytime, any topic. She's a public figure and she is open to ridicule. She's free and her supporters are free to dispute it and I'm open to the consequences, which don't include physical assault, of stating my ridicule.

Make no mistake about it; Smith did not go up onstage and hit Rock because of the joke. The idiot sat back laughing at the joke, he obviously thought it was funny. His controlling slut wife basically made him take action, and his little brain thinking that he could save her ego, but not thinking enough ahead of the whole can of worms he was about to open.

And yes, comedians will not forget this. One of their own, one of the biggest comedy stars on the planet, was attacked while simply doing his job. Smith and his wife will be the butt of their jokes for years.

Can't wait for the Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle jokes.

Um, its not cultural?
What about the Eskimos? Sharing the wife with an itinerant male wasn't just being a courteous, good host?
Or, maybe a Darwinianly selected method of keeping the gene pool somewhat heterogeneous?

A male's goal is to ensure the survival of his DNA and thus sire children far wide and often. In almost every culture, powerful men have many women - harems, concubines, ladies in waiting, etc. They take many women out of the pool so weaker men have no chance to reproduce. That's survival of the fittest.

This is something most people don't realize. In ancient history many men did not get to reproduce or have a wife at all, while powerful men had many wives and many children. It wasn't until the advent of the Judeo-Christian concept of one man, one wife, for life, that gave almost every man a chance to have his own wife and family. This is one of the greatest equalizers in the history of civilization, and should not be underestimated in its importance. Having many wives is still permitted in Islamic countries, and poor men get nothing. Is it any wonder they are willing to die to get their 72 virgins? They ain't getting any on earth.

And even when singular marriage is mandated and divorce not allowed, powerful men still have mistresses. Having a supply of women is the very motivation for men to become powerful.

Primative native people often live in communal family groups and do not have strict boundaries with respect to marriage. Annual mating rituals pair off the fertile young with each other, similar to mating dances of birds. This is more due to the protection offered in a family unit from outsiders. And if they lack any technology and live in the stone age they cannot amass the power needed to support a large number of women.

Sure, culture, ethics, and morals have an effect on this. I can't speak for eskimos, but exceptions always exist.

Unless there's a chance his name ends with him, this is not on any male's mind.
