The Alaska At large House seat is still undecided. Alaska uses Ranked Choice Voting. Until a candidate gets to 50% of the vote, the candidate w least votes is dropped in every round of counting. Any voters who voted for the dropped candidate have their vote moved to their second choice vote. right now: DEM Peltola 116,322 48.1% REP Sarah Palin 63,025 26.1 % REP Begich 57,437 23.*% Peltola could win if she gets to 50% . she is getting close. REPS could have probably won this if Palin and Begich were not both running edit: I previously said there would be a "run off" if Peltola doesn't get 50%. That is incorrect. If Palin has more votes than Begich, then the race would be decided by how the Begich voters voted for their second choice. | |||
