The House of Representatives is GOP-controlled thanks to how we performed in states with the most liberal ballot harvesting and vote by mail laws — New York, Oregon, California. We can master this system. Democrats are praying that we refuse to try.

Oh, I'm sure Paul will leave some for Nancy. She's probably gonna be home more often.

I'm noticing a theme here, and the music's kinda catchy.

From my crotchety perspective, this may also be the only realistic way to get states like New York, Oregon and California to actually ban those practices.

One additional thing about Nancy: Pelosi as Speaker of the House set the precedent that the Speaker holds veto power over minority members assigned to House committees.

Reap and sow.

218

Of the 6 remaining races, expect to get 4 more seats (Duarte, Kiley and Valadao of CA; Boebert of CO) at a minimum. That should reassure the doomers and gloomers. Big Grin

Nancy Pelosi, 82, will announce decision on her future TODAY: Anti-Squad Hakeem Jeffries tipped to take Dem House leadership - amid rumors she will step down from Congress and hand seat to daughter

Pelosi, 82, announced she'll 'address her future plans' with speculation already having begun as to whether she'll remain the leader of the Democrats

She has served in Congress since 1987 and on two occasions as speaker, is currently helping her husband recover from a home invasion and attack

President Joe Biden has asked Pelosi, a fellow Democrat, to remain in Congress and to continue holding a Democratic leadership role

The speaker has long been under pressure from some pockets of her rank-and-file to step down and make way for a new generation of Democratic leadership

If she were to resign, many think New York Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, the chair of the House Democratic caucus would be in line to take up Democrat leadership

While a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Jeffries has often clashed with the so-called 'Squad' leftists and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Why the HELL is it “her” seat and how can she just hand it to her daughter? Doesn’t that seat belong to the people of California?

I don't know how CA deals with congressional vacancies. Maybe the governor appoints an acting replacement until the next election. If it's up to Newsom, he'd likely do whatever Pelosi wants, and would be perfectly happy with her daughter getting it.

Newsom's father's sister married Paul Pelosi's brother. So it is "Auntie Nancy" for Gavin

And that's not true, at least no more.

He was related to Nancy through marriage to his former wife. Once they divorced he was no longer kin.
