Dam’! Now I’m so confused. Until now I had been convinced that voting as a right-winger was a waste of my time due to the fact that every election was rigged and I had just decided to give up and stay home next time. (Which, if we’ll recall, is supposedly why many Republicans have likewise given up.) But now‽ A Republican not only supposedly won, but in a close race at that. What am I supposed to think and do now? Vote, not vote?* It’s all too much for my feeble brain. * Note, BTW, that if you have any advice, it must reconcile the two: either it’s possible for a Republican to win a close race, or they’re all rigged these days and impossible to win. Okay: your turn, and no ignoring one or the other. ► 6.4/93.6 “Cet animal est très méchant, quand on l’attaque il se défend.”

It can be simultaneously true that a Republican can win a close race, and, some locations have rampant cheating making it unlikely a Republican can win.

Well? We were going real good on the gloom and doom, but now that there's something to celebrate, where are you? With a Republican-controlled House, President Two Scoops won't be able to get jack shit passed.

Excellent! I’d like to see 2 Scoops totally flustered to the point of breaking down on national tv. He’s a liar and cheat.

We have potential to get to 221 from 217 CA 27 Garcia +13,134 w 70% reporting CA 03 Kiley +10,261 w 57% reporting CA 22 Valadao +3,280 w 64% reporting Colo 03 Boebert +1,122 w >95% reporting Decision Desk projected Kiley will win to make 218 They must see the remaining CA 03 votes as being strong REP Ranked choice voting (I hate it) messed us up in Alaska. DEM Peltola is leading both REP Palin and REP Begich. But together Palin and Begich have more votes than Peltola For the senate seat in Alaska, there will be a run off between REP Murkowski and REP Tshibaka. Mark Levin said McConnell pulled campaign funds from Laxalt in Nevada and Bolduc in New Hampshire and then sent 6 million to help Murkowski.

I am convinced that the ship will right itself. Far left ideas are being shown to be morally bankrupt and bereft of common sense, of no practical use. The pendulum is swinging back in the right direction. I know people who hate trump because he is such a "bad person". Those same people would not have liked Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Andrew Jackson, Patton, or MacArthur either, to name a few. True leaders need to make hard choices and will always garner critics and attacks. CMSGT USAF (Retired) Chief of Police (Retired)

The CA GOP embraced the voting laws in the state. They shelved whatever "principles" they have against ballot harvesting and unattended drop boxes. They just did the same thing as Dems. The late count mail-in ballots are favoring GOP in orange county etc. makes sense if you don't have to debate, do interviews, or even hide in bathrooms and still win. where its legal...just hire an army to go collect every mail-in ballot sent out without anyone requesting them. The GOP in these states that just watched the dems run around town for almost 2 months collecting ballots and dropping them off...have themselves to blame. if you want these laws changed, going to have to go the long way, do the same thing, try and win, and THEN change the laws. This fluff about Florida - Miami-Dade County going red...aint that hard if the dems have a terrible issue set, poor approval...and... mail in ballots? upon request only and only lasts until the next general election drop boxes? no. present ID at voting location? yes fraud is possible, but all mitigation efforts narrow its effectiveness. More than fraud though, it is now the mechanics of harvesting ballots that got shot out of a cannon like confetti...

All this "red wave" stuff set up voters for disappointment. Having high expectations is a great way to be let down hard. If everyone- media and voter alike- had just waited to see the result, we would be better off. Instead, after ultimately taking control of the House and therefore effectively stymieing President Two Scoops, we're tremendously disappointed that Democrats weren't ridden out of town on a rail, tar and feathers included. Are we better off, or worse, than before the election? We're better off, but since we didn't get everything that the always accurate, always truthful news media told us we were going to get, well, it's a disaster. All of that stems from expectations.

The lead story right now on Fox news is "Republicans 1 seat away from House majority". They still havent called the Kevin Kiley race. If you look at deatils on Fox, Kiley is up by 5.5% but only 57% of votes counted. How is that possible 8 days after the election?!

Most other election result web sites don't want to show republicans winning so they are not updating the data honestly. Those others still show us at 217 for house seats.

These "calling" of races, elections are done by media, before votes are even 100% counted. Right now, Decision Desk has called Kiley as the winner for CA Seat 3 based on their projections, just like everyone else. In fact, Decision Desk has Republicans at 219 seats right now. Semantics, really. The House is certainly behaving like the Republicans will have control in January. Republians held nomination elections, with Kevin McCarty nominated for Speaker of the House next year. Democrats are scrambling to hopefully pass ticky-tack bills, some of it aimed at Trump. House members I'm sure are aligning themselves for better positioning for the next two years. The reason Decision Desk HQ is calling REPs at 219 in the House is because in addition to the 217 everyone agrees on, Decision Desk HQ has projected CA 03 Kiley and CA 27 Garcia to be REP wins

RE: CA-3 status The Kevin Kiley Twitter feed only points to a 'Decision Desk HQ' call. As I write this (4:30PM EST, 11/16) Neither AP nor Fox has made the call on CA-3: Fox House 2022 results page AP 2022 Race Calls page Having never heard of Decision Desk HQ and not knowing how much credence to give them, I went to their site and looked at what they show for CA-3. You have to know where CA-3 is on the map and click on it to get their numbers, but DDHQ is showing the vote tallies with 51.67% reported, so presumably that's when they made the call. Fox and AP have more recent vote tallies (57.11% reported) but yet haven't made the call. So, it looks good to happen, but unless you have some background suggesting they are better at prediction than Fox and AP, it may be premature for champagne and fireworks based solely on DDHQ. RE: how is this possible this long after Election Day The reason this level of ballot suspense is still possible this late, is that CA allows for ballots postmarked election day a week to arrive.
