Oh the Bernie screw job is on. Look at all the Biden endorsements. Watch how many (Pete, Amy, Beto, etc.) get promised jobs in exchange.

He's already promised Beto and Buttigieg cabinet positions...
As horrible as those would be, one hopes it does not come to pass.

Michael Bloomberg, speaking at a Fox News Town Hall in Manassas, Va., on the eve of Super Tuesday's pivotal contests, remarked matter-of-factly that he could ultimately win his party's nomination for president through "horse trading" and "deals" at a contested Democratic National Convention this summer.

Now we know this guy has absolutely no clue. With the endorsers that have lined up behind Biden it's clear that a lot of Dems have already decided that this boils down to the Establishment candidate - Biden - versus the insurgents' candidate - Sanders. A brokered convention was always going to spark a war within the Dem Party and it looks now as though the establishment/insurgent tension could well be driven through the roof before the convention. No matter what, the Dems absolutely cannot afford a brokered and negotiated convention without doing serious long-term damage to the party itself. No one's gonna do that just so that Bloomberg can be the nominee.

All of which is exactly why we want Bloomberg to keep on doing what he's doing. He can do serious long-term damage to the party itself.

Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.

With all the Democratic candidates dropping out and supporting Biden you know the DNC is trying to stop Sanders. Warren is not in that group because she may take votes away from Sanders, so the DNC wants her to stay in at least until after Super Tuesday. That's my take on all this.

Warren appears to be trying for a VP spot on Bernie's ticket but the longer she stays in the race, the less likely he gets to keep them from stealing it from him.
Another question they need to be asking themselves is how much stress can either of the old guys take? Bernie's already suffered a recent heart attack and Biden seems to be having a number of senior moments, even though he hasn't been burning up the campaign trail yet.

^^ That's not necessarilly an end game for Warren. She's still in the Senate, and if she looks like Sanders' pick for Number Two then she might be able to cut some interesting deals for switching her support to Biden or simply not being involved.

He should be able to get it cheap, too. Until the election's over, no one can be really certain that the Dems themselves are listening to the DNC.

Warren takes a shot at Biden

https://www.realclearpolitics....eet_this_moment.html

LIZ WARREN: I want to congratulate Joe Biden on his win in South Carolina. I respect his many years of service.

But no matter how many Washington insiders tell you to support him, nominating a fellow Washington insider will not meet this moment. Nominating a man who says we do not need any fundamental change in this country will not meet this moment.

And nominating someone who wants to restore the world before Donald Trump, when the status quo has been leaving more and more people behind for decades, is a big risk for our party and our country.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

She has to know her campaign is at a dead end. Looking for VP w Sanders ?

PASig, a question if you're still checking in - would it make sense to retitle this thread as the Dem primary thread? We're pretty much out of debates, and the one has certainly bled over into the other.

Bloomberg is having a really bad night.
Warren is also having a really bad night.

I would almost be tempted to take that action. I think Bloomberg stays until the convention. He has already said he set aside a billion and that is nothing to him.

Is anyone else a little bit bemused but also scared by how QUICKLY Biden went from near-death to the presumptive nominee in like ONE WEEK? Eek

That DNC Machine is something to behold, that's for damn sure!

This is the best case scenario, IMHO. The Bernie Bros will revolt over this!

What will be interesting to see now though, is if Bernie takes a payoff and supports Biden after the convention like he did with Hitlery. We'll be able to gauge how much voter turnout will truly be at Biden's rallies from here on out.

The Democratic party is truly fractured.

I think it just shows how little Iowa and New Hampster, South Carolina matter in the whole scheme of things.

JMO the primaries are as much of a Television ratings scheme as they are true indicators of the vote results.

Primary system needs to be a one day nationwide deal, get it on, get it over with... But that won't bring in the weeks and months of TV revenue, news/editorial/entertainer show ratings, etc.

If the Demonrats could arrange a multi million dollar contract like the NBA with a network for exclusive access to the primary they'd do it in a second...
