Probably irresistable impulse. Like some people who have fetishes and collect things. Apparently he is on leave from the Dept of Energy. In 2016 and 2018, Brinton was the principal officer for the Washington DC chapter of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, an LGBTQ charity and human rights group.[17] At events, such as the organization's 40th anniversary, they performed in drag under the name "Sister Ray Dee O'Active".[1][18] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Brinton

This will go away, very quietly. There will be some error that necessitates a dismissal. I just hope our agencies that do potatus dirty work don't set their sights on the cop.

You don't know that and I am sick of seeing these kinds of posts. This guy now has two separate cases against him, both felonies. You have no way of knowing what will happen, so just stop, please. "An error that necessitates a dismissal." In both cases? I want these depressing predictions of no consequences to cease. Just what in the world do you think you're doing when you post stuff like this? Let the matter play out.

Para I'm sorry, if you took what I wrote as negative that wasn't the intent. What I wrote was about the conduct of the current administration. My apologies, I understand how it can seem negative.

Do you know how often members do this in threads where some leftist is accused of a crime? Someone does it every time. Guaranteed.

related to above https://www.msn.com/en-us/news...-scandal/ar-AA15cdFW Former Department of Energy official Sam Brinton no longer works for the department, a spokesperson told the Washington Examiner on Monday after facing two separate allegations of theft of luggage from airports. "Sam Brinton is no longer a DOE employee. By law, the Department of Energy cannot comment further on personnel matters,” the department spokesperson said.

They must have caught it stealing from the ladies working there. Must be embarrassing wearing an outfit you stole from a co-worker. Of it got caught stealing from the break room refrigerator.

Wait, what? |
Let’s hope this pos has his life spiral down so badly that he removes himself from it. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

Objectively Reasonable |
I think he's well and truly screwed on the criminal side. I think he's well and truly screwed as far as continuing or regaining employment as a direct government employee. But I also think it's curious that the spokesperson worded it that way, because "no longer a DOE employee" is not the same thing as "no longer associated with DOE" since there are a boatload of ways somebody can still be employed AT an agency without being employed BY the agency. On a side note, this is the first time I've actually looked at the DOE webpage in years. I'm underwhelmed by their "priorities."

If you think that's underwhelming, you ought to go in one of the buildings where they work and check out their "work ethic." That's truly underwhelming.

I've done a few IT contracts for the Feds. Not sure how it is now but I had to pass criminal background checks. A felony was a big no-no. I really hope that is still the case.

Not saying you're wrong...but I can find nowhere in any source where it says he was fired. All sources are very circumspect-saying mostly that "he no longer works there." Can you point to a source where it explicitly states he was fired?

I can't either. Here's an article with just a little more info but still no details. As one poster noted, he might be rehired as a contractor. Yes, the Biden administration would do that. Sam Brinton no longer works for Department of Energy amid luggage scandal by Misty Severi, Breaking News Reporter December 12, 2022 07:37 PM Former Department of Energy official Sam Brinton no longer works for the department, a spokesperson told the Washington Examiner on Monday, amid allegations that Brinton has been involved in multiple luggage thefts. “Sam Brinton is no longer a DOE employee. By law, the Department of Energy cannot comment further on personnel matters,” the department spokesperson said in an email. Prior to Monday's report, the department claimed that Brinton, who is nonbinary, was placed on leave but refused to comment on whether the leave was paid. It is not clear whether Brinton resigned or was fired from the department... Complete article: https://www.washingtonexaminer...ergy-luggage-scandal

They're after my Lucky Charms! |
Former employers do need to be careful when some one leaves with a less than idea employment record. It would be satisfying to see the DOE come out and say "we fired the nutjob for stealing" the flip side is does open the agency up for a civil lawsuit. While the employer would likely prevail, the cost in legal fees to fight it would be enough of a headache. So the easy and understood way of saying fired or left under unfavorable circumstances is to just say He/She no longer works here. And if asked, decline to give a recommendation. Side story: The worthless IT guy at my primary government worksite is finally gone. Got the "He no longer works here" when I was looking for him a few weeks ago. And it was that tone that begged for more details. I'm just curious what he did to finally get canned. Lazy and incompetent was what he achieved on a good week. On a bad week for him, it was better to let the IT issues fester till next week and hope his mood improves. Lord, your ocean is so very large and my divos are so very f****d-up Dirt Sailors Unite!

Yes, this is common HRspeak and has been for probably a couple of decades. He was fired or he was compelled to resign. This guy's usefulness to the left has just about expired. They know that we will be following Brinton's criminal cases and his future employment.

I think it’s remarkable how many Leftists have filthy private lives. Some of them are felonious while others are just despicable. This Brinton train wreck is just the latest example. Does anyone remember Cathy Areu? She was a FoxNews personality. Crazy Leftist to the point of almost parodying herself. Didn’t matter what the subject she came down on the lunatic fringe Left. Anyway turns out she recently kidnapped her mom and fraudulently accessed and embezzled 250,000.00 from her estate. Matt Lauer, GMA hosts cheating with each other, Weinstein, Sam Bankman-Fraud and on and on. Scumbags all. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier

I can’t wait for this story to die and go away. Yes, it’s part of the noose that will hang the Biden administration, but my eyes cannot unsee the pictures. I just don’t want to see a picture of that asshat ever again..
