2015 Tundra TRD Pro with 83k miles asking 29k

Only thing is it appears to have been for sale since March. Normally that would be a little rise for concern but the truck is in Ohio and I am not sure what their lock down rules have been in regard to dealerships.

Ours have been open the whole time.

Not sure the 15 TRD Pro is really worth it as it has the Bilstein and not the Fox Suspension.

Couldn't you buy a new one for a bit more money? NOT the PRO model, but do you need the off road capability?

A friend just got a nicely optioned 2020 Colorado for $33K NEW. Dealers haven't been selling, all sorts of promo deals and low to 0% finance incentives.

I can’t speak to the fancier versions but I consider my 2012 167K Tundra to be the new truck in my driveway. To date, other than fluids / filters / tires, I’ve only had to replace a battery and tail light bulb.

Tundras have not moved quickly. There is a steady but small demand and Toyota has adjusted production expectations accordingly. But the regional distributors typically have incentives in place for new Tundras throughout much of the year (as compared to a 4Runner, for example).

The few months on the lot wouldn’t bother me.

Tundra's hold value and the TRD Pro holds even more. Price seems pretty fair but the seller surely has room to move. Don't let the mileage scare you if it all seems good, it's a million mile truck. Mine's a 2015 Limited with 110,000 and before getting rear ended I could have gotten 25k easy. 16 k in damage and they didn't consider totaling it.

45k is about the going rate for a SR5 4x4 CrewMax new and the Pro is knocking at 60. 29k is the very top of my budget. Looking to be closer to 25 because whatever I get will be fully outfitted with suspension, skid plates, rock sliders, winch, and bigger tires because I will be off-roading it. This TRD Pro popped up but also thought all Pros had Fox shocks. The 15s only came with Bilsteins. So might be better off getting an SR5 and fully doing the suspension myself since the Bilsteins are just OK.

I wouldn't pay half of that for a Toyota with that many miles. That's obscene and I hope you think long and hard about it, to give you time to come to your senses.

Think about how much money that is and what you could do with it for your family, instead of buying a well-used toy that's going to end up in a junkyard within your lifetime.

I don't care what the "blue book" says. If you buy it, you will come to regret it, and you'll do so while you still are making payments on it, and that's gonna sting.

No doubt, my opinion on this is not what you want to hear, but, man, you'd better give this a lot of thought.

Around here a new Crewmax 4x4 SR5 can be had for 39k out the door. Just something for comparison.

83k is a bit of concern with me. Wife’s 2015 Suburban with 50k miles we bought in January is the highest mileage vehicle we have purchased. Hoping to get 150k out of it.

As for the Tundra my father in law bought his new in 2008 and he has 270k miles with no serious issues.

The rest of the Tundras I am looking at are closer to 25 or 26k with 50-60k miles. The Pro popped up and kind of sparked my interest but doubt it is worth the extra coin.
I’ll do maybe 10k miles a year so I see plenty of years to come.

If the truck is from Ohio , the frame,suspension and brakes may be very rusty

Those things are insane with holding their value. Personally I couldn't justify that type of coin but if you can, why not?

83k miles seems like a lot but for a Toyota, it wouldn't scare me. Would be much better if it were closer to $25k but that's not realistic.

I'm shocked at the prices people are willing to pay for transportation these days. All these cars are going to end up as lawn furniture and soup cans within your lifetime. Just plain obscene.

I think some dealers are taking advantage of the 5.7 engine trucks due to 2020 being the last year for the V8, what a shame. I dont have the knowledge to speak to longevity if its built for off roading but, its common knowledge the Toyota Tundra will last quite well for many hundreds of thousands miles when properly cared for. For a 5 year old truck that is very low miles. Problem I would have is not knowing what its previous owner or the salesman has put the truck through. Owners I have seen here in northern Kentucky, no matter what the vehicle, are real fuck heads when the drive. Well known. Locals pound the tar out of their rides. Just a half mile away sets a brand new Dodge 4x4 all smashed to hell, stunt driver. It dont make no sinse. Now if that Tundra truck was cared for, you allready know it will last just about forever. 83,000 Miles is laughable.

Jeremy, that’s too damn much for that many miles. Get one with lower miles, save the money and mod it yourself. The fox shocks are great, but you can get an SR5 or an off road for far less and add the Fox shocks, or some Kings.

It is a good looking truck. Dig the inferno red color. Needs bigger and better tires..

Nope. Two issue you’ll maybe but probably be looking at. A water pump and very likely the Air Injection Pump(s) $700 and $1800 respectively, locally.

I have 105,000 on my 2010 Grade model which is now the SR. Only available in double cab, not Crew Max.

If you have 29k, save a few more and buy a SR new. Decently optioned and if you’re going to mod and off-road it, no expensive parts to get rid of.

These are my thoughts and I was under the impression you wanted an F150 to utilize a bunch of parts you already have. If I was spending $29k, I'd honestly spend a little more and get a brand new truck and keep it a long time and would be looking at an F-150 over a Tundra. You can buy 2019's right now, brand new and pretty well reduced. Interest rates will be cheaper than a used vehicle.
