Most Democrats want to destroy the country.
Most Republicans want to let them.

To paraphrase The Hero of San Juan Hill, these fellows have no more backbone than a chocolate eclair.

I hope and pray that they find the courage to actually fight.

God Bless and Protect the Once and Future President, Donald John Trump.

I would want Scalise but he has multiple myeloma, usually fatal, unfortunately.

So I think Jordan would be a good choice.

Scalise is a little too 'establishment' if you ask me. That said, though Jordan is certainly a principled 'True Conservative' and would be my preference as I feel he's one of the most ardent defenders of the Constitution in Washington DC, it's possible Scalise would be a better Speaker. Regardless, either is a MAJOR Upgrade from McCarthy!

Yes!

Sundance at Conservative Treehouse has been a voice of clarity and he doesn't trust Jordan.

FTA:

Beware the “Anger Manager” – Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan Says He Would Accept House Speaker Role

October 4, 2023 | Sundance | 701 Comments

My dearest friends, as much as I do not want to accept certain things, this one is critical to accept. Jim Jordan has shown over time that he is simply a purposefully placed “anger manager” on behalf of the Professionally Republican wing of the administrative state.

Perhaps we lost him before the 2020 election, when the “six ways to Sunday” group fired a shot across his bow with the issues about “widespread sexual abuse in OSU’s wrestling program.” The timing seems to fit with the overall dynamic and how the intelligence apparatus operates. Regardless of whether that was the inflection point, the extreme visibility & promotion of the claims, in combination with the sudden disappearance of them, was the impetus –or if it was something similarly timed– something consequential changed in the political orbit of Jim Jordan...

Jim Jordan is the carefully positioned guardian of Kevin McCarthy. Jordan was the general selected to hang out with the troops and play the role of steering leader; one foot in the trenches and the other foot in the mahogany meeting room. If he did his job well, he would control the glances by the regulars toward the indulgences of leadership...

Jordan is corrupt; perhaps that’s too strong a word; perhaps compromised is a better way to put it. Not corrupt/compromised in a way of directly lying, cheating or stealing, but rather corrupt in the same familiar manner that generates all of the frustration we feel. Corrupt in the sense of satiating the masses while being disingenuous in the extreme of creating ZERO accountability.

Speaker Kevin McCarthy used Jim Jordan for exactly this institutional preservation purpose, and Jordan knows it…. and willingly goes along with it…. and willingly plays the role of “anger manager” on behalf of his leadership. That’s the part that has become more obvious and needs to be accepted...

Politico ran a story yesterday that should really tell us everything we need to know headlined, “Ukraine is ‘freaking out’ as McCarthy chaos threatens US aid.” Ukraine’s corrupt oligarchs are worrying that the money train has reached its final destination.

Politico summarized the problem in one short paragraph:

McCarthy’s historic ousting — no other U.S. House speaker has been deposed before — (came) after Congress voted through an emergency domestic funding package to avert a government shutdown. That deal, a stop-gap 45-day budget to keep the government running, featured no aid to Ukraine.

Now that McCarthy is out, all future U.S. funding for Kyiv is in limbo.

Ukraine’s corrupt oligarchs in were badly triggered by McCarthy’s removal. “We are freaking out. For us it is a disaster,” said Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, a senior Ukrainian MP who chairs the committee on the country’s integration with the European Union.

The article stopped short of coming out and saying explicitly McCarthy is sitting in Ukraine’s breast pocket. Instead it framed the story as uncertainty over who McCarthy’s replacement will be. Ominously, Politico reported that “the Ukrainian government insists it has built constructive relationships with most potential replacements for the speaker’s post and is continuing to work with American lawmakers on the next package of aid.”

The bottom line is, the Ukrainians are upset that McCarthy is gone. Somebody start keeping track; that’s a “plus one” in the Gaetz column.

Someone explain this to me please. All I am trying to do is understand.

The last bill that triggered McCarthy's ouster contained no funding for Ukraine.

If the bill passed under McCarthy had no funding for Ukraine, how is McCarthy supposed to be a patsy for continued funding for Ukraine???

Put another way:

1) Ukrainians want continued funding for Ukraine.
2) McCarthy passed a bill with no funding for Ukraine.
3) Ukrainians are upset McCarthy was removed as Speaker???

That does not compute.

^^^I believe it's been reported that McCarthy was working a back deal w/ the Democrats (as in 'behind the backs' of the Republicans) to ensure funding for Ukraine.

I believe it was posted in this thread, but I don't have a link, and I don't plan on looking for it. Wink

The last bill that triggered McCarthy's ouster contained no funding for Ukraine.

The Florida Republican also accused McCarthy of making a “secret side deal” with President Biden about approving Ukraine aid in the future. McCarthy denied that a side deal existed, telling reporters the “agreement” was to fix a possible technical issue connected to transferring funds under the continuing resolution.

But, clearly he had talked with Biden about it:

CNN —

President Joe Biden appeared to suggest over the weekend that Democrats had reached a new deal with embattled House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Ukraine aid – a major omission from a funding bill that managed to avert a government shutdown.

“We just made one about Ukraine. So, we’ll find out,” Biden said when a reporter asked whether he would trust McCarthy when the “next deal comes around.”

The remark left open the prospect Biden had secured some new agreement from McCarthy to take up new funding for Ukraine, despite opposition from some hardline Republicans.

The comments prompted Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz – a Florida Republican who is promising to take action this week to try to oust McCarthy from his speakership post – to call on McCarthy to share more about “his secret side deal with Joe Biden on Ukraine. I’ll be listening.”

Late yesterday, the New York Times ran a story headlined, “Trump Endorses Jim Jordan in Race for House Speaker.”

The article mentioned that representative Jordan was one of 117 Republicans who voted last week against continuing a program to train and equip Ukrainian troops to defend their border. “Why should we be sending American tax dollars to Ukraine when we don’t even know what the goal is?” Jordan told Fox News on Thursday night. “No one can tell me what the objective is,” he explained.

Well, I could tell him what the objective is. The objective is to create a money vortex, whereby billions of taxpayer dollars are laundered by Ukraine’s corrupt oligarchy and repatriated right to democrat officials and donors in the U.S., after paying the money-laundering tax, of course.

It would probably be cheaper just to pay them directly.

Anyway, will Trump’s endorsement help Jim Jordan become the nation’s next Speaker of the House? Would Jordan be a good choice?

The impression I'm getting from this thread is that we should be thanking all the democrat and 8 republican members of the House for voting McCarthy out. That doesn't sound very encouraging to me.

Uhhhhhhh....when you have an employee that is screwing the pooch and phukking up a wet dream (metaphorically speaking), what exactly in the hell would YOU do??? Give him a phukking RAISE?!?

Of COURSE the Demofarts will vote to oust a Republican REGARDLESS of who it is and this move just revealed a LOT about who exactly is swimming in the SWAMP. Plain and simple....McCarthy is a Swamptard. Always has been. Always will be.
