Hey, that's great, but, a question about grammar. Rep. Scott's phrasing: "I highly respect Jim Jordan." Shouldn't it be "I respect Jim Jordan, highly" or "Highly do I respect Jim Jordan"? https://twitter.com/bennyjohns.../1712949769583145144

Rep. Scott’s phrasing is fine, and the more common, but your first alternative is also fine. The second is almost olde English. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

https://www.breitbart.com/clip...tion-to-speakership/ House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that “informal conversations” are taking place for a bipartisan solution to the House speakership. Jeffries said, “There are informal conversations that have been underway. When we get back to Washington tomorrow, it’s important to begin to formalize those discussions.” He continued, “At this point, that is on my House Republican colleagues. We have made clear, publicly and privately, that we are ready, willing, and able to enter into a bipartisan governing coalition that puts the American people first and solves problems for hardworking American taxpayers.” Jeffries concluded, “We want to ensure that votes are taken on bills that have substantial Democratic support and substantial Republican support so that the extremists aren’t able to dictate the agenda.” with a razor thin REP House majority, one better be very careful to have a few REPs vote w all DEMs on anything "we are ready, willing, and able to enter into a bipartisan governing coalition"

Perhaps this has been asked but why didn't the GOP have a candidate selected that everyone agreed on before this happened? It's not like it was a surprise. The VERY conservative block that ousted the last speaker won't support anyone that isn't on their side of the spectrum. Without them, there would have to be at least a few of the other side of the aisle needed in order to elect a new speaker due to the narrow majority in the House.

The Dems undoubtedly want subpoena power on the committees. The Republicans can go eff themselves if they are even thinking about this. The Gang of 8 can also go eff themselves since this dysfunction is on them. They can't side with Democrats on voting for a speaker since that's easiest way for them to lose their next election. They won't side with Jordon for the same reason they ousted McCarthy. Even when in charge, the Republicans can't help but stepping on their own dicks.

It’s been reported that some Republicans don’t want to vote for Jordan simply because it would be giving Gaetz what he wanted. They are supportive of the previous speaker. I can somewhat see their point, but they need to govern without giving the Dems stronger positions. The Dems will be unified against Jordan, that’s a given. I think the vote is planned for tomorrow, Tuesday.

Keep those stinking democrats out of this. They ought to have not a damn thing to do with picking the new speaker. The very idea that any Republican at this point would make deals with democrats in order to pick the new speaker is pretty despicable. Unless of course the democrats want to vote for Jim Jordan... ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

I'm calling Ann Wagner. If you know anyone on this list... please call: Political activist Amy Kremer on Friday posted a list of 12 holdout Republicans blocking Jordan's path - which Mike Rogers was on before supporting Jordan on Monday. https://www.zerohedge.com/poli...e-heads-tuesday-vote "Some things are apparent.
