That guy on your TV showed a live shot from Babcock Ranch at 1:46am in the morning then comment that “Of course Babcock Ranch still has power because they are solar powered”. Roll Eyes They have no storage capacity and use FPL’s closest natural gas plant for electricity at night.

My wife says we’re done here. Twice in two weeks, she maybe right.

My nephew lives outside Orlando.

They lost a few sections of fence, a busted window, and there is a ton of standing water.

3:30 Friday and power just came back on. Of course at 1pm I went and got another 15 gallons of gas expecting to be without power for at least another couple days. Well it works in our cars anyway. I’m going to leave all the extensions set up for now, just in case the power blips back out. Tomorrow I’ll put everything back into hibernation ready for the next go around.

Power still out here in NE Hillsborough County. Didn't see any response from yesterday till this early afternoon. First trucks I saw about were about an hour and a half ago (4:30pm EST).

County crews have been non-existent. Guess they are focusing on Tampa. Haven't even been putting up road closed signs.

We're sort of stuck here, only ways out are slammed. The Flying J truck stop at Tampa gateway is only place with gas and the line has US 92 and CR 579 backed up 3 to 5 miles. Add to that most traffic lights aren't working.

I made sure my tank was full prior, even topped off Tuesday with an eighth of a tank.

Power is getting closer here:

You can tell by the street lights it’s only a few streets away! My wife says we are always the last ones. In our county, 97% lost power and we are in the 20% waiting patiently for power to be restored.

In case anybody was wondering where Jim Cantore was; he was in the parking garage of the set of buildings at the left/north end of the bridge at the top of the picture here:

The photos were taken this morning from our house using our drone.

Guys, don’t waste your time clicking this clickbait link. Every other house of the same construction in the guy’s neighborhood in Orlando also made it through unscathed despite not being “strapped down”. Roll Eyes

I still think it is pretty innovative whether trapper189 likes it or not. Judge for yourself.

And I think this could make a difference if your house was hit hard.
