This report shows more video including how the building was breeched https://www.aol.com/news/nashv...otage-104336118.html The shooter shot through the glass front doors and crawled through the openings. Looks to be armed with 2 of the Keltec SUB2000's and not 'assault rifles' The shooter is being very methodical as they move through the building. Most average people wouldn't have these skills so I'm guessing this person likely spent a lot of time playing those shoot-each-other video games. Watching the body cam footage now; adult met the officers on the street saying they were in lockdown. No one in the halls on security footage. Could have been much worse if they who shall not be named had started with the kids in the playground in footage above. A hard target that could have been made harder; my thoughts. Bless the staff and kids in the school. | |||

It appeared to me (and I could be wrong) that scum had broken out windows to fire on responding officers; oblivious to the two teams coming for them. Alert sirens probably helped disorient them. I counted four rounds from the AR of the responding officer's body cam. | |||

And two- she was clearly deranged, and as I posted earlier, she was not the only transgender to commit these kind of massacres, there are a number of them in recent years. I'd like to pause for a moment in this thread to remember the six (6) defenseless victims who lost their lives due to the heinously selfish and reprehensible act. I would like to follow that with another pause to salute those in Law Enforcement who put themselves in harms way that day to prevent further tragedy. The perp was shooting at responding officers as they pulled up. There are pics of the rounds through the car windshields but I'm not sure it was directed at the vehicles the entering officers were in. I've watched the vid more than once and this was just an A-1 job. The citizen who met them outside said the shooter was on the second floor but the officers cleared the first floor until they heard shots and then moved up the stairwell. This vid will get used a lot for training. No doubt. No Uvalde here. | |||

Fortunate this school is fairly small and the responding officers were able to engage and eliminate the threat as fast as they did. Very surprised to see these videos released so soon, while I believe this is a fairly clean shoot, I think it sets a dangerous precedent for future events, as the Monday-morning QB-ing and nit-picking of the officers actions will begin. | |||

I just read this Police Chief John Drake revealed in a press conference The Covenant School was the only school that was targeted. "There was another location mentioned, but because of a threat assessment by the suspect and too much security, they decided not to. And that area was here in Nashville." | |||

Having had the distinct pleasure of taking a carbine class with jljones & Doc Steve, I can understand where that comes from. The “golden hour” isn’t really a thing with rifle wounds. With appropriate training and practice, taking the safety off becomes part of the firing process. Go to the barricade, assume a position, get set, aim, safety off, fire. Safety back on, move over six to twelve inches and up six to twelve inches to the next spot, get set, aim, safety off, fire. Rinse, repeat. If you’re shooting, the safety is off, if you’re not shooting, the safety is on. I’m not at the point where it is totally unconscious yet (need to spend more time with the AR), but I can see how one can get there. | |||
