What is your concern?
Maybe that the enemy will not wage battle in that cold?
Some battles in prior wars prove the contrary.

Continuing to carry at every possibility.

My wife is becoming more and more concerned with the recent beheadings and was in a complete funk yesterday over the horrific murder of the pilot. The Japanese government has issued warnings to all living overseas and the terror issue has been almost constantly on the TV news we get via satellite.

Plans for always being "capable" are progressing.

Interesting, roundabout "chat" with a next door neighbor indicates that he is on the same page as we are with recent and local "concerns" and that is quite refreshing.

While I certainly have friends that know the truth about our world, unfortunately it seems other friends/acquaintances are content to keep their heads in the sand. I'm amazed at the shoulder shrugging out there. While we probably don't all need tanks in our garages, we need to consider some type of preparation.

Wanted to post an update to keep this thread going, please...

Plans have progressed a bit further and there is now a good carry system for the "house pistol." It is working well also for extremely fast bedside access and for being with me when I start the truck in the morning. It is good peace of mind.

It is interesting to note that sense of peaceful calm that washes over when armed. When we are out and about, even find myself with more of a smile and friendly veneer.

Yesterday, was thinking a lot about someone's sig line here that goes something like, "be polite and professional, but have a plan to kill everyone you meet" Wink

God bless !

My wife and I, too, have kept at the training. Things are much different, read better, with our WML attachments.
We went to the range and worked 'yard clearing' using cardboard man targets. This is bringing us closer together. It is nice feeling safer at home because we are acting so well as a team.
Be well

The wife is starting to get the idea of being ready, she is insisting about every other week to go shooting. Saturday we are going to go to a gun show to pick her up a Colt 6920, and looking to upgrade her Sig 238, possabily a 938, Glock 26, or an M&Psheild. Never fired a Glock26 , anybody have experience with it? Starting to put together a car survival bag for each truck and her car, just in case. Can't believe this country is heading down this road, but got to be prepared these days.

We are on our own in the face of imminent danger. This is not simply talk. I am not some young man full of hyperbole. This is real. We in the United States now face guerrilla-style attacks from cells of these psychopaths, and we, each of us, are on our own.

The odds are against you encountering such a thing. This nation is so vast, the odds are astronomically low that you will be at the wrong place at the wrong time. For some reason I do not take comfort in this.

I am glad I am not the only one that has been seeing he writing on the wall, plus hearing a lot of other people saying similar things, for quite a while now.

Bought a Glock 26 and a Glock 29 in the last 6 months. 26 is a gen 4 and I absolutely love it. 29 is a gen 3 and there is a noticeable difference in the trigger, but would prefer it because of the 10 mm power if it ever hit the fan. But I can think of no better compact 9mm than the 26 and I have a few that I really like.

I'm not alone!! I've been feeling this way for a couple years now, it isn't getting any better either.

The Glock 26 is a fine weapon. I , personally, do not care for it as it requires a pinky tuck for me to grip it.
If you are gearing up for a level of tactical defense, and I use the word tactical as being for a SHTF scenario, I would consider something with a greater capacity like a P250. Or, if you like Glocks, look at the 19.Also, I would keep that 238 for CC.
Good luck and be well.

Worth noting is that Mrs DF asked me to keep a rifle out and within reach when we are home. She has been on a real journey relative to firearms. Early in our marriage my enthusiasm for defensive arms was mine alone. It took some tenacious nagging to get her to the range and she cared very little if I carried. She saw no reason to have a pistol out of the safe at home...even at night.

Years later after learning of some distressing events locally she was more comforted that I carried and there were guns loaded and chambered in the safe. Still barely got her to practice though. No guns out of the safe while at home....even at night.

She had a scare a couple years ago while I was working out of town. I noticed that she began to carry a firearm in her car and kept one out of the safe and hidden while I was away. She bought a small gun vault bedside safe and kept one of my 375 mags in it.....even when I was home.

Now she has had her eyes opened by global events and sees our vulnerable under belly exposed to militants of all stripes. She watches and reads about ISIS and knows extremists are already here. Her intent is never to have a knife at her throat. She scolded me -- and I mean angrily -- last week when she caught me not carrying while we were out. She has her rifle ready fully loaded and chambered in the safe. She has been practicing with enthusiasm with it and asks that I keep mine out and ready. Glad she has caught up to me. Big Grin

It is better to have and not need, than to need and not have.

Seeing things spiral towards the drain recently, can't think of a better response to ward off an unwanted attack than an AK sidefolder with 3 spare mags close by in the trunk.

The peoples of the world will realize, and I think soon, that a nation where it's citizens are allowed to protect themselves, will survive the onslaught that evil will bring to its shores.

The more evil people see, the more they will want to protect themselves.

I've seen a lot of evil in the past 40 years. Some of it has been burned onto my brain and I see those sights every time I blink.

We are prepared to protect ourselves. And we will.

Sure wish mine would get there! She has no problem with me being fully armed at all times, and even arming my teenage daughter when she is left home alone, but my wife is never armed. She did go to the range one time with me several months ago, but that has been it.

Thank you for the update, sir. Sure wish we were closer to you folks so that Mrs. DF could have a long talk with Mrs. EK Smile

That being said, Mrs. EK realized last evening that I am now also carrying in the house, when the "house" rig came off before bed... At first, she was a little surprised, but then quickly saw the logic !

I "open carry" at home, so Mrs. BB has long known that I carry in the house! On occasion I'll still have my daytime CC rig on with a shirt covering it, but she knows it's there anyway... Wink

Agreed. It's an OWB arrangement and there is a shirt covering it, as we take the dogs out to the backyard often and I did not want to advertise... This was just a more subtle way to introduce the new plan Wink

I prefer an MG 42 for all applications, but since I cant hide one in my shorts, the Glock 26 works pretty well.
