Albuquerque Gun Shops See Spike In Sales After Governor's Ban

https://www.zerohedge.com/poli...-after-governors-ban

Gun stores in Albuquerque, New Mexico have seen a surge in customers after Democratic Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham's emergency order banning the carrying of firearms in and around the city.

"Today was the busiest day I’ve had in months," Arnie Gallegos, owner of ABQ Guns in Albuquerque, told The Epoch Times. "I’ve been getting a lot of people who have never come into a gun shop before who are rightfully concerned about their freedoms.

The "test" is going swimmingly, I see. Governor Pinhead is back tracking while she gets the ever-lovin' shit sued our of her state, gun sales are up, her allies are running for cover, the courts have shut her down.

Such a good test.

I'm sorry, you don't get to wrap what is effectively an unconstitutional law in a public health order and get away with it.

Selfishly, I'd love to be so well-funded that I could go buy another gun each time a politician did something stupid with respect to guns. Big Grin

Most likely, what the gun stores are seeing is what we always see when gun rights are threatened: panic buyers. First-time buyers who've been thinking for years about "getting a gun". Roll Eyes The same kind of people rush to the hardware store, trying to buy emergency generators when a storm is about to hit their city.

I'm okay with that. It drives the statistics, for those who only look at the numbers without thinking about the reasons.

That said, we still ought to encourage those new buyers / panic buyers to get some training and get involved in the sport (or hobby, or whatever else we want to call it), but in the short term it sends a message to the short-sighted: "when we try to make it harder on people, they go buy more of what we don't want them to have."

God bless America.

In one week you’d have so many guns you’d definitely get a visit from BATFE. Razz

In her CNN interview, she said she believes she's in her rights, her duty to do this and will let the courts decide. My takeaway on her comments that it was a test to see where the line was. Or she's just plain dumb AF. Both could be true for option C.

The response to this tyrant's decree is very up lifting. Over the past 60 years we have seen the screws tightened on lawful gun ownership with gun control acts, outlawing "Saturday night specials", assault weapons bans, etc.

The response was mostly lots of complaining and then being good polite citizens patiently working through the legislative or court system. We tried using logic and statistics in public conversations. Local conflicts rarely became nationally known unless it was the left spinning it to their advantage.

The recent few years have energized freedom lovers, and happily the response to the NM decree has been national. Dems immediately abandoned the governor. And, most importantly, the NM citizens have engaged in open defiance.

This appears to be a tipping point.

"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." - Hanlon's Razor

If you can't see the outright stupidity in this emotion-driven dolt's knee-jerk melodrama, well, then comfort yourself by continuing to call this a test, as if there's more to this than what we see, which is this woman making a complete ass of herself and getting no support. It looks like what it is, it is what it looks like.

"Business and trade mission" All these foreign trips by state and lower-level politicians are nothing but taxpayer funded vacations.
