Gun Owners of America (GOA) secured a temporary restraining order Wednesday against New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s (D) ban on concealed carry.

Breitbart News reported that GOA filed their lawsuit in a U.S. District Court against Grisham’s order on Sunday, two days after the ban was announced.

At that time, GOA executive vice president Erich Pratt told Breitbart News, “Gun Owners of America has filed a federal lawsuit challenging Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s gross and egregious violation of the U.S. Constitution. Her claim that there are ‘exceptions to the Second Amendment’ is not only wrong, but it also blows open a huge hole in the Bill of Rights. GOA will not rest until the rights of New Mexicans are restored.”

For now, the temporary restraining order is an oral order. More coverage on the decision will follow as more information is released.

It looks like CNN challenged her (shocking!!!) and she has no idea.

This guy has a point though... they can do what ever they want as long as they are allowed to get away with it.

^^^ Very sure that’s why I rejoined GOA. I like what I’ve seen from them lately.

Hope others will support them too.

Lady, your emotion-driven bullshit has nothing to do with this. We're talking about the Constitution. How you feel about the constitutional rights of American citizens is inconsequential.

I've noticed she didn't bother banning driving to prevent all of those kids and adults that are killed in motor vehicle crashes. Isn't that a massive public health hazard?

Quite honestly, she would have been more effective had she banned gang members from shooting anyone between the hours of 0900 and 2100 local time.

She's fixated on 'NRA talking-points'

Like Dave Rubin, Colion nails it, this governor just revealed her ignorance of personal rights and belief in her righteousness. Leftist white women on full display.

Gotta admit, kinda stunned CNN went hard after her

U.S. District Judge David Herrera Urias, a Joe Biden appointee, issued a temporary restraining order against New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s (D) concealed carry ban Wednesday afternoon.

After issuing the temporary restraining order Urias wrote:

IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED BY THE COURT that the Defendants New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, New Mexico Department Secretary Patrick M. Allen, New Mexico Department of Public Safety Jason R. Bowie, Chief of the New Mexico State Police and any other New Mexico officials (“Defendants”) are ENJOINED from applying, enforcing, or attempting to enforce, either criminally or civilly, Section (1) of the New Mexico Department of Health’s “Public Health Emergency Order Imposing Temporary Firearm Restrictions, Drug Monitoring and Other Public Safety Measures” (“PHO”) published on September 8, 2023.

Urias made clear the temporary restraining order is to stay in place “until such time as the Court has ruled on the Plaintiffs’ motions for preliminary injunction, following a hearing at which all parties shall have the opportunity to present further argument to this Court.”

The hearing for the preliminary injunction is set for October 3, 2023.

The CNN reporter tried to make a hypothetical about a governor suspending abortion for thirty days, but the question was deflected. I wish instead they would make a hypothetical about the fourth amendment.

“So, Governor, in order to reduce gun violence, would you support suspending the fourth amendment for 30 days, and have the police go door to door in these counties, searching for guns and drugs, sans warrant?” “If not, please explain why that would violate the fourth, but your existing order doesn’t violate the second amendment. Please explain why you think you have the right to suspend one right but not the other, if the reason for both orders would be urgency over gun violence? After all, both actions are for an eleven year old kid who was shot seventeen times.”

Pin down her great constitutional mind and have her explain it. After all, she did say she’d do everything in her power. Why not suspend the whole constitution and just hold mass trials on Friday and hangings on Saturday?

Using abortion as an analogue isn’t as effective because it’s not in the BOR, so it’s more easily dismissed by these lefties. Suspending the fourth, though, would be an interesting example.

The posturing is somewhat encouraging, given that in some leftist circles they are rationalizing ignoring judicial rulings they don't agree with. They don't like the constitution.

Of course they don't like the Constitution, it is preventing them from the totalitarian rule that the seem to so desperately crave of late.

Funny you should ask: I was just wondering the exact same thing a while ago.
