I'm assuming those AT&T buildings are fairly reinforced, and I'm not seeing much of anything utility related above ground. Did this bomb create some sort of crater that's not visible in the photos?

No problem. Read something on another forum that was obviously erroneous.

Police at suspect house

https://www.boston25news.com/n...OQJDLFLIFQIKVHWLINM/

Short video at link

Local and federal agents are here at a home for “court authorized activity” in the 100 block of Bakertown Road, an FBI spokesman here told me.
Neighbors said an RV similar to the one in the explosion was parked at the home within the last 2 weeks

Police have a person or persons of interest in custody, CBS News reported.

This makes me wonder if there was some sort of EMP effect inside the building?

I didn't think conventional high explosives could generate an EMP. You need a nuke for that.

So, is it a nutty conspiracy theory to think this has something to do with either the November or January elections?

Seems the suspect sold his house for $0.00 a month ago.

What if the RV was filled with microwaves, and the dude loaded them up with Peeps?

Strange, almost looks like a missile incoming from the right, just before the blast.

I wonder how public safety radio systems were impacted. Most public safety systems are entirely dependent on repeaters of some variety. If they go down their radios are essentially $5,000 paperweights. They have some simplex channels, but I don’t know if the dispatch centers are set up to use them. It’s a concern of mine. Without radio communication, cell service, and internet we are truly dead in the water. Even the landline systems are entirely dependent on internet connection.

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

I’ve watched those two videos several times and I’m just not seeing anything that would resemble a missile right before the explosion. What am I missing?

Just to the right of the light pole in the center of this still shot.
The smoke stream dissipates just before the explosion.

Second video I see an initial flash coming in at an angle before a vertical explosion.
I drew in some red lines in this photo.

I am just an arm chair quarterback, just seeing oddities.

I see the plume of smoke, but it looks as if it's going upward, not incoming.

The Non-Nuclear EMP Threat
So, to this extent, the plot of "Goldeneye" is plausible. Any of several nations with nuclear weapons and the capacity to launch them into space including the United States, Russia, China, and even Israel could conceivably pulse us back to, shall we say, a simpler time when operations orders were done orally with a sandtable, instead of with the high-speed graphics and charts that turn into an encyclopedia that few people care to read. Even more unsettling, however, is the fact that the U.S. Defense Technology Plan confirms that development of advanced EMP weapons continues to this day, and not just by the Americans. According to a report drafted by conservative members of the French National Assembly in 1992, EMP weapons testing was a recommended goal during France's 1995 underground nuclear tests.6
Some really scary parts of the EMP story did not make it into James Bond's latest adventure. Weapons designers specializing in high-energy physics can now create electromagnetic pulses without going into outer space. One approach involves harnessing the force of a conventional explosion. Others are simply just modifications of radar, which bounces pulses of energy off aircraft in flight, vehicles on the ground, and other objects.7 Crank up the power and you have an EMP weapon, ready to point at the computers of your favorite enemy.

This knowledge has set off a new arms race. Whether fitted into cruise missiles or parked at the side of the road in a van, non-nuclear EMP weapons have the potential to devastate the electronic systems of areas as large as a city or as small as a selected building, all without being seen, heard, or felt by a single soul. It is a dream come true for any and all terrorists, to include Saddam Hussein himself!

Sound far-fetched? It did not in 1993 to the owners of automobiles parked about 300 meters from a U.S. Defense Contractor's EMP generator test site at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. Their alternators and electronic engine controls were accidentally fried by a pulse during classified field trials.
