Sorry to hear of the diagnosis; I hope it's still localized and the shadow in the lung is unrelated. You will be in my thoughts and prayers for clean scans and a quick/complete surgical fix.

Hoping you get it removed, followed up by an all clear. Might be a little tender taking the curves in that Mustang for a bit, but she'll wait until you're 100%.

As I said earlier, I really think brain cancer is a stretch, but I have been wrong before already about this thing I have.
I just wish no new discoveries from the brain and upper chest scan tomorrow.

On Thursday, I will know the results.
Ive read all the posts but don't see a biopsy mentioned. Have they done a biopsy? I'm by no means a doctor, but they found a 3" diameter by 5" long ovarian tumor on my Mom doing an ultrasound looking for kidney stones. They did a hysterectomy and that monster tumor was benign.

Unfortunately, 3 years later they found lung cancer (she didn't stop smoking after ovary tumor). The reason I mention this, is one of the best diagnostic tools with her was the PET scan. It's done simultaneous with a CT scan, but it combines imaging with radioactive pharmaceuticals that differentiate tumors from regular cells by metabolic rate. Did you have a PET scan?

Sorry to hear the news, lbj. You and your family are in our hearts and prayers at the 'Hook household.

To be honest, your outlook on this situation completely humbles me. I especially appreciate your testament to your faith. Hang in there, brother.

Just got off of work and saw this thread. I had hoped that after the original post that you would get good news. I'm sorry to hear that that was not the case. My thoughts go out to you and I hope that they do not find that the cancer has spread. I applaud your outlook on the situation and believe that if you have a chance of beating it, you'd give this disease one hell of a fight.

Here are the answers I have to a couple of questions members have asked.

My CT scans are twofold, and they include doing the intravenous dye thing that makes one feel hot in certain areas.

The one earlier this week was the same way.

A biopsy is apparently not needed for this mass on the kidney. It is a certainty it is cancer.

Once it is removed, there will be further inspection of it like anything removed from our bodies these days.

I can certainly ask on Thursday when we go over the scans from tomorrow as to exactly why it's cancer and the apparent non need to do a biopsy first.
