I think that cast of characters would be dangerous with a blunt object.

Regarding the rifle (which has not been discussed by the authorities), from what I heard on the video it was NOT a full-auto.

Thank God this idiot was a horrible, horrible marksman. A spinning rifle hanging from a tree limb firing away might have done more damage.

Here is an eyewitness video of the shooting. The visual is mostly confused, but you can hear the pace of the gunfire.

Better? Virginia has a Governor's election this year and Democrat Ralph Northam hates "HATE", or so he says. He's running as an anti-Trump liberal. And makes no bones about his extreme liberal positions.

Don't worry. It's subscribers only.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Anyone who subscribes to that rag needs their head examined.

How do you carry a rifle in a duffle bag? Not hard to do partially disassembled.

And he drove (apparently) to DC from IL, so he likely had a vehicle with the weapon stashed in it.

Hopefully this pushes nationwide CCW reciprocity. I don't think the Congress dwellers need any more special privaledges than they already have.

Yes, the text/color/drop shadow combination is if you want anyone to actually be able to read it.

Yeah that font color / size combo is awful. I have no idea what you are trying to say and I tried twice, takes about .25 seconds to think "fuck it, not worth it".

I'll bet a month's pay it was not full-auto. Heck, news outlets are even posting that it was an M4, suggesting it was select fire. That's BS too.

Not much to add about the nut job Dimwhitcrap/commie shooter.

To his shooting (or lack thereof) skills. Twice in the last month I was at a indoor shooting range. It's 25 yards max., with markings for 5,7 and 15 yards.

The first time I was there I happened by the window where you could see the range. There were two black guys in their 20's. They had a target at 15 yards. As I stood there, they took turns firing an AK 47 (a magazine each) and not one hit! Not one. Oh this was on a B27 target. So 60 rounds between the two and not.one.hit.

I was trying my hardest not to laugh.

A couple of weeks later I was back there and again happened by the window to the range and this time was a pair of older 30 something guys, one white male and one black male.

Again I was watching them, and their target was about 20 yards. As they were hopelessly blasting away with an SKS, I don't think they managed to put more than 4 rounds on paper for the 20 that I watched.

I find the lack of skills to be common with a certain segments of Society.

These four guys weren't your typical NRA types. I'm just saying.

I hope that one good thing comes of this, and that's relying on someone else for your protection isn't the smartest thing. So people will wake up to that effect. That said, the DC cops on this detail did a good job. I hope for everyone a speedy recovery.

Now CNN's Dr expert is telling everyone that because rifles have longer barrels the bullets travel much faster. There is also a blast injury to deal with when a rifle is involved.

Where to they get these experts???

Traces are still being done on the two firearms recovered at the scene -- an SKS rifle 7.62 (which is a Chinese-made AK variant) and a 9 mm pistol, a law enforcement source tells CNN.

No AR15 then?

Cannot leftists get anything right these days?

If he used an SKS, then he either had 10 round stripper clips for the fixed magazine, or the rifle had been altered to accept detachable mags?

This was a well considered, but poorly executed ambush.

From my personal knowledge of the layout of the field, we should be damned glad (a) the terrorist was a poor shot, and (b) armed security were present to disrupt the terrorist's plan.

There are two ways off that field that do not involve climbing a 6' fence, and one was very close to the spot where the shooter fired from, the gate by the third base dugout. Its not that big a field, IIRC home to center field was about 335'.

I can also attest to the fact that bullets flying willy-nilly in that area is a bad thing. There is a MST of public places nearby (e.g., coffee shop, grocery store), and both Monroe Ave. and nearby Route 1 are high traffic flow commuter routes.

It's well evidenced the terrorist is a supporter of socialism, so is this the natural one-time byproduct of the hate-filled rhetoric towards Republicans? Or is it an escalation of the violence by one terrorist seeking to encourage his fellow travelers?

I lived on East Windsor Ave. for almost 11 years. Often walked by there on the way to Giant (it's now an Aldi) and People's Drugs (oops, now CVS), would stop and watch the kids play at times. The population density of that area has increased tremendously over the past 10 years with lots of development. Amazing that no one was hit with stray rounds.

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/...-need-third-n2341385

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) has undergone a second surgery and will likely need a third.

Per his roommate, Rep. Erik Paulsen (R-MN), Scalise is still unconscious in the ICU at MedStar Washington Health Center, where he was taken after being shot in the hip on Wednesday morning.

************

Matt Mika, a former congressional staffer-turned-lobbyist who was also shot in the attack, is also in critical condition. Mika was reportedly the worst injured in the attack and was shot in the chest. He is being treated at GWU Hospital.
