What is this about "parking" a balloon over Canada. In my understanding of balloons, they do not park. They go where they are blown.

They can control it's altitude and place it in different prevailing winds, steering it.

It was. A buddy sent me a picture of it from his front yard in St.Louis and it was way south. About two hours later I heard about the explosion just happening in Montana so the explosion has nothing to do with the balloon, at least directly. You never know if it dropped something or it's not related at all. Should be interesting.

I wonder if it was a Russian "weather" balloon and Trump was president if the American people would have the same apathy.
