So we are entering a time now where the news may mostly come from U.S. govt and the taliban.

Sec State Blinken said today that:

- a State Department analysis in offering 6,000 as the number of "American citizens in Afghanistan who wanted to leave." 4,500 have so far been evacuated
- Blinken now says the number of Americans who want to be evacuated is definitively 500, with 1,000 others they are trying to ascertain their status, though numbers are hard to pin down.

The biden administration will lie and minimize how many got left behind (because biden lies every time he talks)

Nobody believes their numbers. We also have evidence of them leaving Afghans who worked for us out to die. A dead American body in a ditch will look like the Afghan dead bodies in the ditch. We can depend on these asshats to cover it up and give themselves medals for a "job well done".

One military device Taliban forces have sized is the U.S. military's biometrics database that has sounded alarm bells with U.S. officials.

Called the Handheld Interagency Identity Detection Equipment (HIIDE), it was seized last week during the Taliban's offensive, according to The Intercept, who spoke with current and former military officials. The sensitive data, now in Taliban hands, contains a biological database on the Afghan population. Some sensitive data include thousands of Afghan civilians who worked alongside U.S. Army Special Forces as interpreters."

Welton Chang, chief technology officer for Human Rights First, a former Army intelligence officer, said, "I don't think anyone ever thought about data privacy or what to do in the event the [HIIDE] system fell into the wrong hands."

Why didn't they think about that?

Its a real Enigma, isn't it?

At one time intelligence operatives understood that protecting one’s sources and staff was a matter of primary importance and their identities shouldn’t be compromised to the enemy. Then again, when the “leadership” decides to strike the colors and run up a white flag with no notice and a draining the swamp project suddenly turns into an alligators up to the ass level situation, sometimes even the obvious gets overlooked.

It just gets better and better. I can hardly wait for the next revelations. Roll Eyes

Not really. Let's just say that the Taliban Press Secretary, Yusso Totali Fuqqed was really on point at their press conference today.

I guess we have a few more days to find out if this CF is worse than the US Tehran Hostage rescue fiasco. Silly me using the word 'if' in the prior sentence.

EU leaders were worried that Trump was shitting on NATO - at least per NGO propaganda reporting.

EU leaders have discovered to their horror that Biden has left a giant dinosaur turd all over them. Makes Trump look quite good right now.

Guess this is the real wake up call for NATO - as long as they remember to not point their enhanced armed forces at each other again. Humanity is pretty stupid - so the EU's remembering the follies of 1914 and 1939 have me concerned.

The mid-terms will be the key. If pro-Trump republicans win BIG, Biden gets 25th amendment. Harris becomes President and Trump becomes VP, since it's the Senate I believe gets to choose to fill the vacancy of VP. Harris will have to resign due to incompetence and Trump fills out the term and gets re-elected in a landslide.

OK, I'm just a tad nutty on this one, but when I look back over events of the last 180 days - anything can happen. Current events have exceeded my crystal ball already.

Prayers to the troops and civilians in Talli Land. What a CF.

Aus DFAT Smartraveller update last night:

“Do not travel to Kabul airport. If you’re in the area of the airport, move to a safe location and await further advice,” the advice read.

“There’s an ongoing and very high threat of terrorist attack.”

Aus SkyNews update not more than 3mins ago ...
A potential attack by ISIS-K remains the biggest threat.

I agree to a point, but he’s lucid enough to know what’s going on. The man is wicked as can be. And so are his handlers and enablers, like you said.

Make a run for the border... if you think you can make it': UK tells stranded Afghans NOT to come to the airport as troops begin to pack up and leave thousands behind after Joe Biden's betrayal

Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said there were few places left on UK planes, raising fears people will be left

Some of those trying to flee the Taliban may be better off heading for the border rather than hoping for a flight out, the Defence Secretary admitted last night.

As evacuation efforts entered their final hours, Ben Wallace appeared to signal in a briefing to MPs that there are few places left on British planes.

There is also an increased terror risk from jihadists ISIS-K, with US officials last night saying there was a 'very real risk' of an attack by the terror group.

Questioned yesterday about what Afghans who have been offered student places or fellowships in the UK should do, Mr Wallace said: ‘If they think they can make it to a third country, that may be a better option.’

Pressed by a Tory backbencher, Mr Wallace added: ‘I recommend that they try and make it to the border … because it is higher profile going to the airport – that is where the Taliban will be focusing their efforts at the moment.’

There was no suggestion however, that Afghans who have been told by western officials to travel to the airport for evacuation should alter that plan.

Meanwhile, troubling video today showed thousands of Afghans attempting to flee the country via the Pakistan border.

It comes amid reports that desperate Britons and Afghans cleared for evacuation are reportedly paying private security firms more than £5,000 to help them escape the clutches of the Taliban.

The firms are reportedly charging $7,500 dollars (approximately £5,500) to give those willing to pay a safe passage past Taliban fighters and to Kabul airport.

But most of the money is actually being used to pay off the Taliban anyway, say UK defence sources.

A US order that Britain must pull out its 1,000 soldiers and officials before the US begins its withdrawal has reduced the time available to process the final claims.

US commanders have also insisted on ‘two to three days’ to conduct a unilateral extraction of their 6,000-strong force, meaning the last UK troops are expected to fly out on Sunday.

The order came as the Taliban further tightened its grip on the airport, using checkpoints to block anyone not holding the necessary paperwork and demanding bribes from those who did.

This is the 20th Anniversary of 911. I don't know that the Islamists would trade mammon over a great embarrassment to the Great Satan. I hope I am wrong. It appears the Taliban is holding a Royal Flush.

The world is witnessing what happens when a not very bright 49 year retail politician, with dementia, is running world affairs. There really are not enough words to describe the ineptitude and sociopathic behavior of Joe Biden. As to all those that have propped up and enabled him, this is all on you – congratulations on the international disaster you have created.

Donald Trump is not a politician, he is a leader, politicians are a dime a dozen, leaders are priceless.

I fear Sunday. As the US troops depart, it would be almost too easy for Taliban/ISIS/Al Queda to allow part of the force out and then take out the runway before the remainder of the group could depart, leaving them totally exposed. I hope this cast of F-ing morons in Washington have considered all such options for this weekend and put lots of resources on high alert and ready to go at a moments notice.

I will admit to one surprise. I knew Biden was a complete screw up, but even I couldn't have imagined him screwing up this huge on virtually every front in only seven months. I sincerely hope that record will never be broken by another president.

Obviously it has its limitations, but keep in mind that there is still U.S. air power on station. Given that it's the Biden administration, I'm hoping that they are authorized to carry live ordnance...but they are there.

I know! Every day reading the exploits of this administration in the news seems like an endless cycle of, "Well, they can't get any damn dumber than that."
