For all the good Trump did as President, and he did a lot, that's like the pot calling the kettle black

Trump has a vested interest in Musk not acquiring Twitter. He admitted to it in that article: "Sign up for Truth. We love Truth."

In my case, I haven't given him enough credit.

Musk took a monkey wrench and dropped it right into the Twitter machinery. Look at what he's done. Look at what's been revealed since all of this began. Musk has made the Twitter execs look like monkeys. He's made them dance on a string like they were his puppets. Look at all the anxiety that was expressed, all the contradictory statements, all the actions and words which conflict with what they've said and done in the past. No one could have done a better job of it that what Musk did, revealing these phonies to the world. This has been great fun to witness, and it's not over yet.

You never know- Musk might swoop in and save the Twitter he's managed to wound.

It does seem like he's a couple of moves ahead of them, doesn't it.

Amber Heard might be the only one hoping that Twitter and Musk go to court......Twitter's shitting on the bed will maybe eclipse her own act.

IMO this is Trump's biggest weakness, weighing into something he doesn't need to comment on. 'If' Trump really does want to run for president again, comments like this only hurt that effort.

My bet....he will eventually own Twitter for less than the original offer he made. Twitter management is hiding information, and when it finally comes out, Musk and his crew will have the opportunity to renegotiate this deal more to Musk's liking. Say what you will about Musk, but in matters of finance and business, he is the sharpest knife in the drawer.

IANAL.

Musk enters into a contract to buy Twitter. As part of the deal, he wants to know how many truly bogus accounts are out there. This is hugely material to the actual value of the company.

Twitter give him BS information about those numbers. Musk pulls out of the deal, citing material breaches by Twitter.

Twitter now sues him for breach. And to prove that he did, and they didn't, they'll have to substantiate the BS numbers. In court. Where everyone gets to see it.

This will not end the way Twiter thinks it will end.

But, IANAL.

Face it. The brilliant elitist savants at Twitter got backed into a corner from which there is no escape. Look at what's happening to the stock right now. It's dropping in value daily. The more Twitter fights the worse it will get for the shareholders, many of which are huge investment funds. Twitter's management is totally hosed either way. One, they refuse to release the info Musk has demanded, this drags out over the next year, and the stock value continues to plummet. Or two, the court forces them to pony up the info showing there are a substantially higher number of fake accounts on Twitter than they've previously represented, materially mis-stating the assets and value of the company for investors, putting them in the crosshairs of Federal regulators. Either way, musk wins in the end.

"putting them in the crosshairs of Federal regulators."

Wouldn't they also be in the crosshairs of anyone who advertised under false pretenses, and seeking compensation for getting less for their advertising dollars than purported?

Guessing by the attitude of the Twitter management, I suspect the number of bots could be 80%. The more fake accounts, the more ad revenue Twitter receives. An easy way to earn more, and nothing stopping it until the truth comes out in court.

Twitter has been hosing their advertisers, whether it is 20% bots or greater.

'If' information eventually comes out that contradicts the bogus account and bot numbers Twitter's management has been producing, then yes, that would open Twitter up to a myriad of potential lawsuits.

As was to be expected, Twitter has sued Elon Musk for backing out of the deal to buy the social media platform. Musk had announced his intention to no longer pay $44 million for Twitter last Friday, claiming that Twitter had not met its contractual obligations, with specific concerns having to do with the undercounting of "bot" accounts and access to related data.

CNBC reported that the lawsuit was filed in the Delaware Court of Chancery, and laid out what could be an "unpredictable" legal battle:

The lawsuit filed on Tuesday marks the beginning of what could be a protracted legal battle as Twitter seeks to hold Musk to his deal to pay $54.20 per share for the company, and as Musk seeks to be let out of the agreement because of issues with spam bots or deal procedure.

The outcome of the dispute could be unpredictable, legal experts say, and could involve a judge forcing Musk to complete the deal, Musk paying a $1 billion breakup fee, or other scenarios including a settlement or Musk walking away without paying anything.
