Well, we also had nukes.

We had 3. We used 2 of those in Japan. IIRC it would have been on the order of months before we'd have been able to refine enough weapons grade material to build any more.

Why would we sanction Moldova? They're not an ally of Russia.

Russia has an ongoing military "peacekeeping" presence in the breakaway region of Transnistria on the Moldovan border with Ukraine, but they've basically been occupying that area with the support of the Transnistrian populace but against Moldova's wishes. Moldova and NATO have been trying to convince Russia to leave Moldovan territory for over two decades.

That'd be like sanctioning Ukraine because Russian troops had been occupying areas of the Donbas and Crimea.
I don't know much about Moldova other than it was reported Russian troops were massing there and troops came from Moldova into Ukraine.

Belarus is just another puppet state and freely participated in this mess. Seems like they should suffer some effect from this war.

Impeachment is called for. If this imbecile is really so incompetent as to not realize how potentially destabilizing and wrong is his response, he needs to go, now.

These people have had quite a bit of success using fear and hysteria. Why limit yourself....terror can be generated from multiple sources. The left plans to recast the potato into a 'wartime' President. All this globalist, NATO hugging nonsense will result in quite a bill for the good old USA.

Huh?

I often get far more information about current events from them than most American MSM sources. Back when that Vegas concert shooting happened, they had far more details than US sources who seemed on some sort of weird self-imposed blackout.

I listened to what the "sanctions" are on NPR where they filiatiate Biden on an hourly basis.
He didn't go after Putin's finances at all.
Much less anything of real importance.
A big ole nothing sandwich.
Biden basically handed Ukraine over to the Russians.
Wonder who is next.

It is beginning to seem that we as a nation would retain what fleeting credibility we have if the Potatus just went to Delaware for a nap and came back to the White House when Putin is finished. The benefits would be defusing any tension by the Potatus lame attempts at being a leader, and doing nothing on the world stage is better than making things worse. The sanctions imposed by Potatus are laughable and Putin knows he has no adversary in our leadership.

The Japanese have been up gunning their navy. And the Air Force I believe. They’ve seen Russian and Chinese naval ships navigating through their waters. There is contested territory far to the north.

China, when Xi decides to take Taiwan he will have the full support of Putin and we will do nothing, not a blessed thing and we will let Taiwan fall, Potatus lame response when this happens will make his response to Putin seem like a Teddy Roosevelt moment, the costs to this nation in the installment of Potatus are horrible and will take decades to recover from. The South China Sea will soon be under China control and Japan and South Korea should be nervous, very nervous because our leadership lacks any resolve and this sitting Congress will not start proceedings to change that.

Sanctions are nothing more than a bunch of meaningless virtue signaling at the nation state level. It's just "well we're doing SOMETHING!!" I'm having a hard time thinking of an instance in which sanctions have actually accomplished anything. It's too easy to cheat on them with neighboring countries. The only way I see them theoretically working is against an island state where you can throw up a naval blockade, and Russia is far from being an island.

The complete, absolute, profound incompetence of the Biden administration, combined with the fawning, lying bullshit of the news media is enough to make anyone who loves this country fall into despair. It is indescribably depressing, watching the stupid behavior of all these people.

Incompetence would be the term if the Biden Administration made attempts at doing what was right and in the best interest of our nation; and continually failed to achieve those attempts I don’t believe that is the case, the actions of his administration are deliberate and intentional. Potatus handlers may be trying to portray incompetence but I truly believe that there is another endgame at play in which this is the forerunner to; I’m not talking tinfoil hat conspiracies but something that his handlers have set as an objective to achieve. I’m not smart an enough to hazard what that may be, but whatever it is I’m certain for the majority here and our beliefs it is not a positive.

OK, some shadowy thing. You don't know what it is, but you think that's what's going on. Gotcha.

Have you ever heard of Hanlon's Razor:

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

I suggest re-thinking all of this.

There's a reason why out of the last 20 or so years, Putin never made any moves in those four years Trump was President...

"There are other stories making the rounds, too, and they are even more provocative. One has it that Trump — noting that Putin seized land from Georgia when George W. Bush was president and seized the Crimean peninsula when Barack Obama was president — warned Putin against a land grab on his watch.

“If you move against Ukraine while I’m president,” Trump is said to have told the Russian leader, “I will hit Moscow."

Putin reportedly scoffed, “No way,” leading Trump to say, “All those beautiful golden turrets will be blown up.”"

https://nypost.com/2022/02/22/...erkel-at-mar-a-lago/

The thing is, Putin believed Trump just might be crazy enough to do it.

I know Hanlon’s Razor, but my thinking on this is there are articulate, intelligent and calculating people surrounding Biden, their motives, principles, beliefs and endeavors are not what my moral or political mindset is, and maybe not the majority here, but that doesn’t negate the fact that they are intelligent and calculating possibly even diabolical in nature to what any of us here wants. I don’t think it is just incompetence. I may be wrong, and my thinking may not be correct, I’ve been wrong before and will be again, in the end whatever the cause incompetence or intentional it is not good for our Nation and her Citizens.
