And,..... we are STILL waiting to hear from the critics about "what the officer could have done to de-escalate" the situation.

Besides just letting her speed away resisting arrest, that is. . .

Some may see a sassy attitude, I see a growed up spoiled brat. I bet the people of that small town could tell you about that. She's probably been there her whole life, and every opportunity her parents ever had to teach her better were squandered in favor of various paths of least resistance.

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. -Ecclesiastes 9:11

...But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by Him shall glory, but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped. - Psalm 63:11 [excerpted]

I’ll never understand how people can be so disrespectful to police officers.
Are they really that stupid?

I don’t have any sympathy for this woman. None.
I like how the officer handled her. Everything she got, she asked for.

There's no doubt that somebody like this, has gotten away with this form of interaction. She puts on a front of being sweet & confident, gets lippey when somebody contradicts or, corrects her, then becomes indignant when things aren't going the way she likes. She's likely abused the grocery clerk, her hairdresser, all wait staff, the neighbor across the street and her husband...if he's still around.

She deserves to be tased again! She’s a “country gurl” & can handle all the juice that taser has.

Yeah - a truck that looks like that, I'm sure the cop would remember seeing it around for the past few months. It's memorable.

She must have fled the wrong direction on the previous stop.

Looking at the truck, I'm reminded of the scene in Smokey and the Bandit where the Trooper got after Sheriff Buford Justice and was calling his car crap...

Now if she'd have gotten out and done that scene I'd probably have some leniency towards her...

Attorney for woman involved in confrontation with police over $80 ticket releases statement
Debra Hamil is facing charges of felony assault on a police officer and a misdemeanor for resisting arrest
Updated: 3:14 PM CDT Aug 2, 2019

CASHION, Okla. —
The attorney representing a woman involved in a confrontation with a Cashion police officer over an $80 ticket has released a statement, saying the officer’s actions were “egregious and unnecessary.”

Debra Hamil, 65, is facing charges of felony assault on a police officer and a misdemeanor for resisting arrest in Kingfisher County.
.
.
.
Edward Blau, an attorney representing Hamil, released the following statement Friday:

The actions of the Cashion Police Department on July 16 were egregious and unnecessary. The thought that a 65-year-old woman, known to the community as the grandmother of two boys lost in the 2012 Piedmont Tornado, needed to be tased and arrested for not signing a ticket offends common notions of decency. The people of Cashion and the State of Oklahoma are no safer because of the actions of [the officer]. His unnecessary escalation and use of force served no purpose other than to torment and embarrass Ms. Hamil. We are exploring all legal actions which may be taken to vindicate Ms. Hamil’s civil rights.”

Now I see the difference, she wouldn’t obey the cop, cussed him, kicked him in the nads, and forced him to tase her sorry ass.

She was the victim in all this! I’m glad her attorney explained away what I thought I saw & heard.

Justice for Debra!

I hope the city doesn't settle this and it either gets thrown out or goes to court. If it becomes a court case, I hope she winds up paying all costs for both sides when she loses this frivolous lawsuit.
