We’re in the northern part of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan right now. The weather has been great all summer. A few thunderstorms and enough rain that the farm fields up here look good to my untrained eye.

It’s our last few days up here which is always a bummer because August is the best month. Huron’s water is in the 70s, but Florida schools start mid August and there’s meetings we have to go to before hand.

That was the biggest largemouth I’ve ever seen that wasn’t hanging on a wall. A little under 19” and fat. We had a canoe paddle in the boat and the fish covered most of the paddle part. It jumped twice while he was bringing it in and of course I joked “We’re gonna need a bigger boat”, which was completely lost on my 14yo son.

Thank you, he’s a good kid. With my oldest going to college this fall and my daughter driving herself around, I’m looking forward to more fishing with my youngest both in Florida and Michigan.

Well, the Grand Kids were coming to swim, but they got into something else Sunday afternoon.

So... I ask my bride of 45 years to throw on a strappy little Sun Dress and we would go for a Sunday earning ride.

She did... we did... It was quite a pleasant evening.

After all this time I still love to snap a photo, or a few dozen, of her when the occasion arises.

I am a member of a local Sportsmen's club. There is some work underway on the property that requires a weekly inspection. I am responsible for those inspections and completing the reports.

Inspection involves a walk through a forested area then into our conservation area. Every time I take that walk, through all the seasons, I reminded myself that I am one lucky devil. The beauty of nature is boundless. Watching a hawk soar above the forest, seeing the sun filter through the branches of the trees, looking back at the forested hillsides, it gives me pause to recognize what really matters in life. It is one of my joyous things.

Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?

Not much reason personally to post in this thread lately. What yall got going on?

And yes, we’re all happy about the election results I know. Genuinely good news for the entire country, even the ones that don’t realize it.

I had a good night's sleep last night for the first time in days. I am hunting Friday thru Sunday and the conditions look very good. Grateful for these small things!

Today me and a friend took our bikes, me 2023 Hayabusa, him 2017 R1200RT on a nice ride, had lunch at a great diner, enjoyed ice cream at OWowCow and took the scenic route back home. Weather was the best you could ask for in PA on a sunny November day, roads were great scenery was great so a reason to be joyful plus President Trump won on Tuesday.

Just found out almost the whole famn damily will be able to get together at Thanksgiving. Job is going well, still married to my teenage girlfriend (almost 28 years now), and my kiddos (young adults now) are both healthy and in healthy relationships.

I'm very happy and so thankful for all that.

Having a cup of coffee on my open back porch this morning wrapped in my sweater watching the sun come up over the trees through the fog. A slight breeze making the 40° morning just chilly enough to let the coffee warm me while listening to the different birds waking up just like me. Snows and blues flying high overhead calling to each other.

Couldn’t ask for a more beautiful morning Smile

Loving that, JYuma!

I'm thinking tomorrow here will be similar -- chilly morning, warm sweatshirt, cooking breakfast on the grill, and watching the leaves fall as the neighborhood comes to life.

God bless America.

Sounds like an idyllic Saturday morning!

You've got to enjoy the little things.

The smell of just cooked crispy bacon and fresh brewed coffee (closes eyes and happily sighs) nothing better to start the day Big Grin

Son caught his biggest yet gafftopsail catfish:

Camera didn’t capture how iridescent the fish is.
