One thing that would be nice as a compromise if companies like top gun, CCR, RTG parts could still advertise, but if not its ok.

I personally feel since this is your forum you should do whatever makes you feel best, there is plenty of other places to advertise wares on

I will miss them. It is unfortunate that it occurred on this forum but thieves are everywhere. I always had pleasant transactions here.

Para, I appreciate your thoughtfulness in wanting to protect members from scammers. There's more than a few long-standing members who have a consistently positive presence in the Classifieds (USAOZ, Sybo, DaBigBR, DryFly, PoliceTruck and many others) who always provide outstanding service to the members. It would be a shame for these guys to lose this avenue of income that Sig Forum provides them, and the safe, reliable transactions they provide to the membership.

On the other hand, there will always be scammers trying to get something out of somebody in the Classifieds. It is apparent that your integrity insists that you protect not only the members but the great reputation of this board, and I don't envy you going through the risk management decision process to keep the Classifieds or nuke them.

Not knowing anything about running a forum I won't pretend to give any advice. But I will say how much I appreciate this forum, including the Classifieds, and respect the fact you're putting yourself though the decision process. Thank you.

Drama queens isn’t the right word. I believe the members are p o’d because scumbags may have caused them to lose something that benefited all and they’re pissed, not drama queens.

SIG228's feelings are hurt because his first post in this thread has been criticized. That's where this "it's just a website" stuff comes in. Instead of owning the remarks he made, he wants to degrade the forum.

These deals were intended exclusively for my virtual SIGforum friends. In recent months however, the parasitic behavior of a few miscreants has begun to leave a sour taste in my mouth. While I may be in the minority, my preference would be to see the Classifieds shut down rather than compromising the integrity of this forum. If the Classifieds do remain in any form, moving forward I pledge to carefully vet all respondents to my ads and exclude with prejudice anyone like yourself whom I determine to be taking advantage of SIGforum's generosity.

I can understand where Para is coming from and can sympathize w/ his “problem”. I would hate to see the classifieds go.

I have sold some things on here and bought several things over the years here. I mean where else can I go and pick up a sweet Sig classic P series pistol and a 5.11 Tactical Kilt to go to the range with!!!!
