New watch for me, bought right here on the forum. It's big and heavy and feels especially so after wearing my Helm titanium so much lately. But the weight feels good.

It's nice to have a watch with some "presence" (weight) on it! That Benarus looks great!

I walked about 50 feet down the side street to look at the car (my late uncle had one just like it) and saw what two other guys were looking at. Watches and jewelry. The guy who appeared to be the car’s owner said to me as I approached: “Is that an Omega Diver?” I said it was and he proceeded to tell me that he had been looking for one for almost 2 years like that and would I be interested in doing a trade. I said not really but what did you have in mind? He pulled out these two:

and said for $100 + my Seamaster he would trade me for the pair of Rolexes! I couldn’t dig out the c-note fast enough to get the deal done. So for my 10 year old 300M and a bit of cash I got these 2 near new Submariners!!! He even apoligized that he had left the factory boxes and papers at his home in Brentwood. I didn’t care!

Nice of you to report this to us....ON APRIL 1st!!!!! Razz

I had to wait for the right “holiday”! LOL

The real story of these two “Rolex Subs” is they were part of items I received in a will from a friend of 40+ years. He bought them to wear to work at Boeing after he saw the prices of the real deal watches. All he ever got was compliments from his fellow workers. They are pretty good ChiCom fakes except for the weight… quite a bit lighter than genuine Swiss models. So they are now props for photography:

^...well the revo and knife are REAL^

New version of the Tudor Pelagos recently released. As others have said, I too prefer the cleaner look of a non-cyclops crystal.

Fortunately, I have the all the Helms that I wanted.

Anyone know what the new tariffs are going to do to the prices.

I know there were some exemptions to watch imports.

Well I just found out that yes Helm is going to be charging more on their watches. As of right now there will be a shipping charge of $115 after April 21 and a shipping charge of $215 after May 21.

Every 50 years or so you should get your watch serviced…lol.

As you may recall my father used my long ago confirmation as an excuse to get an omega watch for both of us.

We went to Jaccards jewelry store and I selected the First Watch Worn on the Moon for myself. Well at a mere 14-16 years of age it was quite big and I didn’t realize what I had despite the fact it cost a monumental $200.

I wore it nonstop until I hit my 20’s. It had some wear time thereafter but for the most part was relegated to my dresser drawer.

Fast forward to a month ago when I decided it needed some love. Here are the before pics:

Here are the in process restoration pics including the deteriorating rubber case back gasket:

I did not have anything polished. Simply cleaned, new gasket, & general servicing. She will be shipped back to me tomorrow.

Can’t wait!

$200
Aren't these in the $8-9k range now?

Top of my 'grail watch' list, for sure.

Any other Sinners around? A few years ago, I bought this Sinn U1 and though I love this rugged watch, even the newer OEM rubber strap (with the quick adjust feature) just wasn't very comfortable on my wrist. I recently learned about Erika's straps and after I acquired one for my Tudor FXD MN21, I decided to do the same for the U1. Such a huge improvement! The elasticized strap is far more comfortable than the typical nylon NATO, and at least as secure.

The crazy thing is I saved the original box and receipt. I've heard they are in the range as you've stated but have not personally priced them myself.

It is being serviced at Sangamon Watch Company in Springfield IL. The cost was $550 and it was hard to find a place that could service a chronograph. That is outside of spending way more by sending it off to Omega. Here is their website: https://sangamonwatches.com/

They also serviced my less than 2 year old Helm Komodo. I was losing a ridiculous amount of time and it was outside of the warranty period per Matt.

Imagine my surprise when Sangamon told me it was very dirty and the lubrication was not good. Since they serviced it, of course on my dime, it keeps great time.

Their honesty and work on my Komodo is why I chose them to work on my Speedmaster.

Thanks for the recommendation, have been thinking about putting something like that on my U2. Glad I got my Sinn when I did, prices had already gone up, hate to see what they are going to now.
