Man. I'm not usually a fan of Breitling, but that is SHARP.

I believe Breitling were making cases for Blancpain back around the time of the 50 Fathoms.

Do you see the resemblance?

Classic and still one of the most beautiful divers IMO.

Just arrived today. The Christopher Ward C63 Sealander GMT. This is their new design range that launched last week. The case is 39mm, sapphire crystal, 150m water resistance, exhibition back and runs on the new Sellita 330-2 movement with 56 hour power reserve.

I’m not a big CW fan because they plaster their name on the dials so, but that (and especially the white faced version) is a nice watch!

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

I was listening to an interview with the CEO of CW and he was saying they are getting to a point with the development and maturing of the brand that they will moving towards emphasizing the logo. I do wish they had a better name for the company.

I was tempted by the white dial but felt the higher contrast of the indexes on the black dial was more appealing. The Sealander Automatic in white is tempting me though, especially for the price.

I am looking to step into the EDC watch arena. I have not worn a watch in over 20 years because I beat the hell of them.

Is anyone familiar with this brand? The price is right for a work watch. I work with my hands and do a lot of heavy lifting. Any other suggestions up to 400.00?

https://www.mtmwatch.com/watch...tomization/hypertec/

Thanks in advance,
Mike

I would look at the Seiko 5. Great quality watch at a good price. On sale at Macy’s right now for under $215.

Never heard of them. First two web results for “hypertec x” are these, warnings it’s a scam site.

Just me, but that’s enough for me not to spend money with them.

You might take a look at either Lum Tec (anything the Combat series) or Bertucci watches (theSuper Yankee might be just right). They’re made in the USA, have similar styling and specs as what that one is claimed to have and in the same price ballpark. They’re also reputable.

Thanks Smudge. You probably just saved me some money and a headache.

I do need something with a softer, fabric band. The metal ones dig into my wrists when lifting.

Waiting on more excellent suggestions!

If you have access to Govx, they will put the MTM's on sale now and then. I know nothing of them though

Govx is where I got my Seiko Arnie and Nixon Regulus for a lot cheaper than anywhere else

Agree with the Seiko 5 for work applications. That's what I wear to work and it gets a beating, but keeps working.

Hey Smudge,
I have decided on the LUM-TEC COMBAT B46. Beautiful watch. I thank you and everyone else for their suggestions.

Hey, enjoy! That is a good looking field watch for sure. Please post back and let us know what you think when you get it. Smile

I ordered a Combat B-47 a few months ago. The distributor I ordered it from apparently didn't update their website to show out of stock and refunded me, so I missed out. However, I see they're making another run that should be available next month and I think I'll grab one then. I tend to prefer automatic watches, but I've been wanting a total lume monster and one that's grab and-go without winding and setting is fine with me.

From the looks of it hypertech the website is a no go but it's also a collection for the military-ish brand MTM.

I've worked on a few of them they are over priced for what you get if memory serves me right and it's been a long time since I read about MTM some Navy Seal started the brand I think.

They were really popular in the early 2000's when Jack Bauer wore one on I think Season 5 and the TV show The Unit. They make a similar model which you put on a charger to recharge the battery since it has back lights for docs and maps so a regular battery won't cut it. As for their other models they use cheap japanese sekiko movements or rhonda movements.

Look tacticool but you'd be better served buying a G-Shock or Suunto.

Nice! I like that it has a Telemeter on it. I know many consider it a useless feature on a watch anymore, but I’ve lived in places that had enough lightning storms to where it would have been worth having on a watch.
