Washed some brass today. Laying on the table outside drying. Will tumble my first 250 tomorrow and get it ready to cut down.

I have found that stainless tumbling the brass after I cut it knocks off the sharp edges from cutting. Between banging against each other, and the stainless pins, it acts like a deburr. That way they are safe to run up into your sizing die without any additional work or concern.

Size them, then trim, chamfer/debur, and BANG!

I have failed in doing much reloading lately with how much travel I am doing for work and DIY home projects I am doing.

I did load up a couple hundred practice rounds for my 300BLK the other week since I have a pretty good supply of 9mm reloads right now. Since I just got a bunch of the Barnes 110gr TAC-TX bullets I need to load them soon, but I am not in too much of a hurry since I already have 500 rounds loaded.

I now need to get a 5.56 die set so I can start reloading 5.56. I also would like to start reloading .357 SIG.

Ive been thinking of getting a big tumbler and going the stainless pin route. The wife and I have been talking about perhaps processing brass as a part time money maker...

Didn't shoot at all this weekend, which is a first in a long time.

Did a little .223 processing, loaded 1000 rounds of 9mm 147gr, and 200 rounds of 38spl.

Shot a crapload yesterday, and picked up even more than that from guys that didn't police their brass before leaving.

Came home, sorted it all.

Decapped the 45ACP, threw it in the vibratory.

Threw the Lapua 308 in the stainless tumbler this morning.

Need to reload 308, as I have 32 rounds loaded now. Except I'm out of prepped brass, so first I need to size, and possibly trim (need to measure). Also need to load .223 and 9mm since I'm low on those as well.

Need to order more 9mm bullets, too. Going through those way faster than I had anticipated.

Deprimed 150 pieces of 300 Win Mag brass. Went and picked up an ultrasonic cleaner. Just removed the first batch and I'm good with the results. Not shiny and new looking but thoroughly clean, primer pockets and all.

After getting blisters on my fingers from manually de-crimping 5.56 x 45, I went out and picked up a Dillon Super Swager. What a difference!

You'll still get blisters.

They'll just take longer to form and be on a different part of your hand.

Disregard if you're not doing it by the thousands..

Sized ~300 pieces of .308 in preparation for tomorrow's 600 yard adventure again with a couple buddies.

This long range stuff is addictive. I didn't shoot nearly this much last summer when the only range I went to was 100 yards...

Loaded 100 rounds of .308 yesterday, then went and shot half of them up.

Got new chronograph numbers, too. Turns out the load that I thought was 2495 was actually 2531. Not sure what the reason for that was, as Varget is supposed to be very not-temp-sensitive...

I had 6 rifle rounds that wouldn't feed and was going to throw them away. I saw my bullet puller and thought to myself... what's the point of owning a bullet puller if you don't use it? First whack and the handle snaps. Great. You would think this bad omen would convince me that pulling the bullets is a bad idea right? Think again. I use the broken part of the puller to pull all 6 rounds. That saved me a whopping $3.00.

I put the powder back in the powder measure and go back to organizing my workbench. Out of nowhere I start wondering what type of powder was in the measure. Of course, I just mixed rifle and pistol powder. I'm not going to take any chances so I dumped it.

Doh!

Show my 20 first loaded rounds using the new scale at the 100 using a chrono. Amazed at the ES-Single digits-of those ten I have one that went a little high-but was a case that weighed quite a bit more.

second group was better, single digit es from some mexican match pulls.

Primed 100 for my 88 shot short range match this weekend.

Yeah, that's the heartbreak of chronos. Mine varys every time I set it up.

What chrono are you using?

CED M2. It's been good to me in the past.. Now, it has me wondering a little bit.

A buddy that was with me at the range that is quite a better shooter than I am offered for me to go to his place out in the sticks and help me build a drop chart so I can stop relying on these electronic ballistic calculators. He only has room to 500, but that will be a good start, I think. I just may take him up on it.
