Toyota Signs Multi-year Technical Deal with Haas

I wonder where that puts Bearman, given his close relationship with Ferrari? Sounds like this may have been a real surprise to them (Ferrari) too. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

thin skin can't win |
That was how I read the stories as well. Having support of both seems great, and long as the paranoia of Japanese/Italians doesn't seep in. They aren't really competitors in any racing or consumer segment, other than endurance racing. Now, if Ferrari wanted to join WRC or NASCAR, this I would endorse!!! It isn't like Toyota is going to be providing engines. I believe their major contribution is give Haas access to their windtunnel and related testing facilities. What Toyota is getting out of it is access to "not too dated" F1 cars for their drivers to familiarize themselves with No, Daoism isn't a religion

The above video also implies that Toyota will also help build parts for the Haas F1 car to help out Dallara will upgrades being delayed.

Finally got my confirmation, I'll be at COTA for Friday! Haven't been since 2018, and likely wouldn't be swinging it if it weren't vendor provided tickets [just have to cover parking & lodging, and attend a vendor event/seminar on Thursday]. The Enemy's gate is down.

TV schedule for Austin? I find the race on ABC, one practice and sprint quali on ESPN but no race quali or sprint race. Set the controls for the heart of the Sun.

I've been watching on F1-TV all year. Don't know if they offer a partial year deal but it wasn't bad for the whole season. They have a monthly subscription that would probably be the best option at this point. The coverage has been excellent. https://f1tv.formula1.com/ ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

We had F1-TV for a while and also tried YouTube TV. I was more comfortable with Sky's coverage on You Tube and dropped F1 although F! TV had much more extensive content. In the end, I felt streaming was a bigger pita than cable and stuck with cable. If some streaming service came up with a better user interface, I'd jump on it. Until then, I guess I'll be deprived. I was paying, per month, for YTTV, what F1TV costs for the year. Also, F1TV has the SkyF1 coverage, you have to switch to the international feed. The Enemy's gate is down.

We got to hang out with one of he pit engineers from McLaren yesterday. Pretty interesting getting a peek behind the curtain, a bit more than what you see on TV/DTS. Headed to the track in about an hour, hoping the Austin traffic mess cooperates. The Enemy's gate is down.

We're going to need photographic evidence.. Way back in the 70's I went to most of the USGP's at Watkins Glen. The last race each season. The teams and cars were in a long metal building that had garage doors on each side to roll the cars in and down the center was an isle about fifteen feet wide. For five bucks in 1975 money, you could buy a pass that allowed you weekend access to that center isle where you could talk to the anyone on the teams, including the drivers sometimes, and watch them work and anything else that went on there. Since the season would be over after the weekend, mechanics would sell all sorts of team items, apparel, car parts, etc. for beer money. Some great times (other than the October weather in upstate NY). ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

Hope that you have a blast! Martin Brundle's sky spot catching people on the grid before the race is just so cringe. _________________________ NRA Endowment Member _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It was great, need to get on my rep to get on the list for next year & try to get Saturday too. Will post some photos from all 4 series [F1, Masters F1, Masters Endurance, Porsche Supercup] once I can go through them. I'm a day behind, so I'm just now watching the Sprint. Ferrari giving a show in the opening laps. The Enemy's gate is down.

Except for the front of the race where it was just a Ferrari show, the rest of the race was excellent. The Sprint: Not so much. I'd much rather add 19 more laps to Sunday's race. If I was a steward having to deal with that race, I definitely would have given Max a 5 second penalty for forcing Lando off the track and given Lando a 5 second penalty for track limits with a written message to both saying quit being a bitch. Liam Lawson was robbed for driver of the day. The man inherits some ungodly engine penalty, gets 1 practice session to figure out a track he's never raced at, makes his more experienced teammate look like a pay driver, and races his way into the points in a "VcarB" that's looked terrible all year. I think the bigger joke is Honda coming out this week with a straight face and telling Red Bull they should give Yuki a test to replace Sergio Perez. If any Honda driver should be getting a test, it should be Alex Palou or Scott Dixon has thanks for everything they've done for Honda the last several years, but I'm drifting.

Yup, great racing throughout the field. Lawson and Russell both started with one hand behind their backs and had great races. The track needs to rethink so of runoff areas and curbing so nature enforces the rules more than the stewards. Perez needs to get his walking papers after Mexico. The car was at least this weekend but he’s still .6 or more off. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

I agree that a 5 point penalty for both would have been most appropriate. _________________________ NRA Endowment Member _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive.
