Did you watch the Snyder cut of Justice league that came out last year? It was completely unlike the original.
I didn’t see the original. I may look at the Snyder version if I can find it.

I just got home from seeing it.
It was shit.

Too many segments where I was left sitting in my chair looking around the theater bored.

This is where my signature goes.

Saw it last night. Theater was pretty empty for the day after release and a Saturday night. It was a good movie. I waited for "woke", but there really was only one line, voiced by the black female character, "rich, white men" caused all the problems. I cringed. Then it went back to just being a Batman movie.

Overall, good film. Pattinson carried it off well.

It is stupid. But I wouldn’t go even if it was free. I’d get arrested for grabbing someone’s $1000 smartphone and cracking it over their fucking skull. I’ll never understand it. Pay $20 for a movie ticket + the high priced concessions then proceed to play on your phone, something you could do at home for free, throughout the movie. I haven’t been in 3 years and never going back. It’ll be on disc in 90 days and my 4k rentals are $3.

I haven't been to the theater since COVID. When my wife and I used to go, we'd sit in the top row of the front portion of seats that most theaters have. Most seats recline enough that it is comfortable, and it even makes it that much bigger-feeling. Most folks gravitate toward the higher seats, so there is less BS in front of you.

Just got back from seeing it.

I really liked the movie probably my favorite Batman movie to date was it a 10 out of 10 no. It was close but it had it's quirks/faults.

One thing it's a long movie about 3 hours long which goes by quicker than it seems but for me sometimes too much time in front of a screen or TV I start to get a headache something to consider.

The thing I liked the most it wasn't campy and all super hero comic book-e with all the wise crack BS.

It was more grounded in reality which made it more enjoyable like the Nolan flicks started out as before those started to go down hill.

I have not been since 2019. 2 straight years prior, every single film, smartphone interruptions and lots of ADHD behavior. I said the hell with it and rebuilt my HT in 2019 and that’s that. I’ve got Dolby Cinema at home. Better resolution and sound than the cineplex can provide. And most importantly no self entitled idiots to deal with any longer. 4k disc comes out for this on June 13th. It’s to the point of being 90 days from theatrical release every time now.

The prompt physical releases nowadays are certainly awesome. I also prefer watching at home, but the theater was a fun thing to do before COVID, and when I lived only minutes from it. I frequented a theater when I lived only ten minutes from it; nowadays I'd have to travel about forty minutes one way, which makes it definitely not worth it. Prices have likely gone up, since I last went in 2019, but I used to think it was reasonable; the wife and I could watch something for sixteen dollars, if I remember correctly. We'd bring our own snacks.

Thread drift aside, I am eager to see this Batman movie, once it's available on disc. I liked the Nolan ones a lot, when they came out, but haven't re-watched them more than once. Batman V. Superman was alright; I thought the Affleck Batman in that movie was about the closest thing to Frank Miller's Batman that had been done so far. Justice League was dumb; I don't care for any of the other "heroes"; it may as well have been an Avengers movie. All that said, I think this new one looks like it draws heavily from Miller's TDKR and Year One, which I read as a kid. All the other movies always claim they're inspired by those important Miller books, but the writers/directors/producers always want to do something to make it "theirs", I guess, and ultimately screw it up. I am not crazy about the Catwoman aspect of this one, but I guess her inclusion makes it appeal to a wider audience (that's always what they say anyway).

Movie theaters are never coming back and the way they end up streaming it anyway soon after it opens guarantees that.

I’ll watch it at home when it’s there

Just got back from seeing it. It was good, and I think he did a fine job as Batman, but overall I think the movie was too long and very grim/dark. It was different and interesting enough, but I’m not sure how I feel about them retconning some things like Bruce Wayne’s parents.

Also, how does Batman take an explosion right near his face, enough to throw him back and knock him out, and his completely exposed lower face doesn’t get a scratch?

Yep. I’d like my 3 hours back. My kid enjoyed it though, so that was worth it. Maybe.

I wound up seeing it twice. I know, but it was logistics. I only have my daughters for a short time before they move on so when they wanted to see this with me I was all in. But then one got called into work. Moved her ticket to the next day and then bought a 2nd matinee. So I saw it with both daughter technically in a 24 hour time window Smile

I was surprised that I enjoyed it as much the 2nd time. I like this interpretation, seemingly real detective work technology that is more analog than digital and I loved the car. Man I loved that car.

One interesting thing for me. It is a Batman movie 90% and Bruce Wayne 10% I liked the story, I liked Batman, so all in all it was a good time. and it was fun outing with my girls. I even bought the novelty popcorn bucket and drink.

I enjoyed it. Don't think I'd watch it again though. I liked how this one only brought the origin story in on the fringes.

I think Pattinson did well.

I like Paul Dano whenever I see him. He plays creepy really well.

Jeffrey Wright is one of my in person celeb sightings. We were at Neuschwanstein/Hohenschwangau Castles at a cafe and he and his kid came and sat at the table next to us. I'm not one to bother others so we just finished our lunch and left. This was in 2014.

I saw it and liked it. For those who haven't been since covid theatres are mostly empty nowadays. Some films are worth seeing with stupid sound and a big screen which is the new niche theatres give you. Not all films will need it though and I wouldn't say this is specifically better in IMAX. The one shot wokeness has already been addressed and I think it hits about as eyerolly as you can but then its done. I've come around on Pattinson, he does well as he did in most stuff for a bit now. If someone paid most people asinine amounts of money to sparkle and shine most would take it if only to break into better roles.

As to where the movie sits a buddy of mine called it the third best batman after the first two nolan movies. I'd tend to agree. Worth my time with a reasonable and grounded group of bad guys. YMMV.
