I am so embarrassed by my dumbass typo.
Mine is a 261-2X, not 262-2X.

See where I wrote it correctly on T1 to the right of the sighter bull?

Yesterday: Same Remington 582, Leupold 4X scope but Aguila Super Extra 40gr round nose.

253-2X. I'm not sure it was a fair test of the ammo; I am sure I had more wobble than the first entry.

I have those days, too. Was hoping to get out to shoot this afternoon but I woke up with some kind of stomach bug. Thankfully it's my weekend off so hopefully it clears itself up before I have to go back to work tomorrow. We're leaving on vacation Wednesday, though, so it might be a while before I can shoot this again.

Oh, gee, that's not good.

No more Taco Bell right before vacation, OK?

Yeah no joke. Not a good time! At least I'm off today so hopefully it has time to work itself out before I have to go back to work tomorrow.

August 4, 2024, S&W 15-22, Weaver V-3 1-3X20 on 3X, hasty sling, indoors.

First match score with Federal Automatch .22LR: 242-2X
(Would have been 250-2X but shot a misplaced 8 on the sighter bull, so counted it zero)

Second match score with Aguila Super Extra .22LR: 255-4X

Edit: Well, son of a motherless goat!

Just re-read the referenced match rules for equipment. Slings not permitted in standing position. DQ'd.

Well, then so am I. Just got back into town this morning after driving all night, so hopefully I can try it again without the sling this week.

Lol, no, for me that's work stuff, and I'm usually on the other end of the Radar Big Grin. This was vacation. We had to cut the trip a couple of days short so my wife could get back for a funeral, so we drove from Meadowlark Lake, WY, straight through to north-central Indiana yesterday. There were some adventures...I'm planning a big post in the gallery when I get a chance to write it up.

Well, I stopped out quick and tried this again today, without a sling. The bugs were terrible...literally swarms of mosquitoes, and I'll admit that by the third set of targets I just wanted to get out of there.

Richard, you really have a knack for coming up with nasty stuff, lol. First the inside scoring, and now you're taking away my sling!

239-1X

Skeeters are bad here, too but I was shooting at our indoor range,
so I wasnt distracted having to slap myself silly.
No, I was next to someone teaching his well built gf to shoot a freakin' 5.56 AR.

This match stuff isn't supposed to be easy. Razz

Yesterday, Remington 582, Leupold on 4X, Aguila super Extra, no sling.
Miscounted and fried only one shot at the lower right bull first target, so a nine and a zero on that one.

246-2X.

Yeah, I dumped one off-target on that last attempt, too...third page, top left. That pretty much sinks any chance at a decent score Frown.

Got out to spend some range time today and work on a couple of other little projects. Shot the match 3x while I was there.

1. 260-2x
2. 259-4x
3. 262-1x

On average, I'm consistent. Consistently poor. And I miss my sling, lol.

Adjusted the trigger on the CZ for a lighter pull, went back out today and put up a 256-3x. The bugs are back, too...I got eaten alive. I don't think the trigger pull was the problem...the gun isn't moving significantly when I pull the trigger, my general "wobble zone" is just huge.

Got the 10-22 and 39A back from the gunsmith, and had another go at the light rifle match.

Good news, all four holes in the soft aluminum receiver were only stripped at the first thread or two; the mounting screws were too short. Sometimes the problem is length, not girth. Who knew?
The cleaned up and sight rail remounted 10-22 started off OK, but the aperture slid out laterally again.
My fault, I forgot the tiny little set screw needs clear fingernail lacquer or purple LockTite.

The previously jammed-with-lever-open Chinese puzzle Marlin functioned fine and showed that it can shoot well. Also, showed my stamina came up short.
39A, Leupold 4X, CCI standard vel .22LR

250-4X
T1 : 91-3X
T2: 76
T3: 83-1X

Not bad, not bad. You overcame any fatigue you might have been experiencing on that last bull on page 3...that one's a beauty!

Had another go at it:

T1: 83-1X, T2: 86-3X, T3: 791X + 248-5X

CZ 457FS, Burris Droptine on 3.5X, CCI Gamepoint 35gr .22 Magnum.

Oops. .22 Magnum. DQ-d.

If you can do that with .22 Mag, I say it counts. There's no way that provides an advantage over .22LR. nice shooting!
