Thanks guys...that P226 is kinda like cheating. For the next one, let's do the Rangemaster Bullseye Course. Weapon: Any centerfire handgun, any sights Target: B8 Course of Fire: Stage 1 - 25 Yards: 5 Rounds in one minute Stage 2 - 15 Yards: 5 Rounds in 15 Seconds Stage 3 - 10 Yards: 5 Rounds in 10 Seconds Stage 4 - 7 Yards: 5 Rounds, Reload and Fire 5 More Rounds in 15 Seconds Stage 5 - 5 Yards: 5 Rounds in 5 Seconds Target is scored using the B8 scoring rings. If a shot breaks the line it counts as the higher value. Any shots over time score a zero. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

OK. One hand or two? | |||

Two. Sorry, I should have clarified, especially since "bullseye" typically implies one-handed. I believe God gave us two hands and intended for us to use both of them ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

Sounds like fun! What’s the end-date on this one? "The sea was angry that day, my friends - like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli." - George Costanza

We can give it a couple of weeks. I know I won't be able to get out and try it until at least next week for sure. It's my long week at work so I'm working all weekend, and out of town yesterday and today for the holidays. And this time of year it's still dark when I leave for work and dark again when I get home, so there's no shooting after work. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

I hear you and sounds good. Got a few commitments on the books coming up here and realized it might be a hot minute before I can get back to the range myself. Happy Thanksgiving, good people! Well, here's my poor attempt with the P226. 28 degrees and about 8" of snow on the ground...got to try out the 4x4 on the Tahoe to get back into the range. Clearly got a case of the low-lefties going on, and of course I threw that one out at the 15 just by being sloppy, after getting everything in at the 25 I score it as a 279/300, no idea about the X count. Kinda hard to tell for sure with that giant low-left hole. I shot it with the new S&W 67, too, just for fun, but I'll put the details from that in the other thread. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

Oh, that'sa nice performance, 92fstech! It didn't occur to me to shoot all 25 on one target. Um, was that eight real inches of snow or 8 Internet inches?
|

At least 8 real inches. It was deeper but then it rained and kinda melted and compressed some of it before it snowed again. If it hadn't done that we'd probably have over a foot. We're supposed to get another 2-4" tonight. I'm good with it...winter is supposed to have snow! ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

Was playing with a 1911 a bit last night and decided that it had been too long since I've shot .45s. I have a bunch of cheap Argentine small pistol primers, and a big bucket of small-sprimer .45ACP brass that I don't mind losing in the snow, so I loaded up 100 rounds this morning and went to the range this afternoon with the 1911 and P220 Compact. The 642 came along, too. I tried shooting with gloves because it was cold as balls, and I figure that's good to practice every now and then anyway. I managed to throw at least one round with every gun, but I really suck with that 1911. Even though the trigger is pretty light, the wall before the break is very defined, and for some reason I have this mental block that results in anticipation almost every time. It also sucks with gloves...that trigger guard is too small, and the SAO trigger makes it kinda scary to force them in there. I ended up taking them off for that gun and shooting barehanded for that one. The P220 is just a sweetheart. I still suck, but that rolling break suits me better than the hard wall of the 1911 trigger. Honestly, the recoil impulse seems less pronounced, too, even though it's a smaller and lighter gun. And the bigger trigger guard and DA trigger worked fine with gloves. The J-frame was obviously harder to shoot than the others, but I'm pretty happy with how that one went for what it is. The misses were all from rushing at 10 yards and in, too...I had them all in at 25. Works fine with gloves on, too. 642 Slow Fire at 25 Yards: ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

Nice consistent results, esp. with inclement weather conditions, 92fstech! So, this is a re-entry match?
