I see now they have a threaded barrel model Ruger. Awesome. They move way faster than Glock on things like this. I will probably pick one up when I find a deal. ----------------------------------------- Roll Tide! Glock Certified Armorer NRA Certified Firearms Instructor

Payback for all the Seiko love Since I'm likely not needing to replace the Mini, a RXM might be in the cards The Enemy's gate is down.

I owe my nearby FFL a few dollars for some work he did for me. I’m tempted to ask him to bring in an RXM when I go pay him. Politicians seem to have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around. — — — — — — — — — — — — God bless America.

Hmm, looks like Vedder doesn't have the RXM in their list yet. Do these properly fit a G19 holster? The Enemy's gate is down.

Would it have been too hard to introduce this at launch? I don't want to buy another one, so the threaded barrel better be available in the Ruger shop, and not cost $250.

My RXMs fit most of my G19 holsters. The tall sights make some holsters a no go. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

Okay. I found myself at my local Cabela's at opening Saturday and spied a single Ruger RXM in the corner of the Gun Library for $299. I promised myself I wouldn't pick one up until the full sized grip modules became available (what's the holdup Magpul), but at that price and convenience, I couldn't pass it up. The pistol looked as if it had fewer than 10 mags fired and never disassembled. Combined with some Cabela's cash, walkout was $225 including sales tax. This morning I disassembled down to the FCU and reassembled the pistol. I found I was the first visitor to the internals. The first reassembly resulted in a bad trigger, meaning I likely had something out of alignment. I quickly disassembled once more an discovered some burs left on the chassis from the manufacturing process. I cleaned up with a file and lubed with heavier grease and reassembled. Now, the trigger was smoother but so sluggish it wouldn't reset completely unassisted. Finally, I disassembled for the final time, wiped all the grease off and lightly oiled during the reassembly. The result was a successful function test with dry fire. I don't plan to rush to the range to shoot it, so will likely wait until the full size grip modules become available. The sights are light years better than the factory Glock sights. Slightly elevated steel sights with a nice ledge. So far I'm liking it. It does have a more noticeable pig nose than I'd expect on a G19 sized model. The slide serrations are aggressive and grip better than the standard slide serrations.

Does it have to say Ruger on it? You can get threaded G19 barrels galore at Combat Armory, AimSurplus, and ebay for $30-50.

Yeah... It uses Gen 3 G19 barrels. They're plentiful and cheap.

Y'all cost me $357. I hope you're happy, you enablers! I should pick it up in a few days. _________________________ 2nd Amendment Defender The Second Amendment is not about hunting or sport shooting.

Congrats. The system does show promise. Minor annoyance with the chassis is how in regular Glocks the trigger bar would only ever brush up against the frame which is polymer, and had almost zero friction. But now the trigger bar brushes up against the steel chassis, and the abrasiveness is quite noticeable in the pull. Also the locator pins provided for optics from Ruger are very tall, and they don't fit the shorter profile I need for my poor man's EPS, the Olight SE I got from Amazon for $159. Ordered shorter locator pins from Tacrig.

I just ordered the Osight SE as well, I found this plate from Freedom Gorilla that is supposed to work well with the RMSc footprint on the RXM. I plan on trying both the Osight and the Holosun 407k on the RXM with this plate. Hater of fun since 2001!

Thanks for the heads up. If the shorter locator pins don’t work out, I’ll try out the plate.

Screws from TACRIG came in. ZERO gap whatsoever, thanks to the short locator pins. I purchased the 4-pack for the Romeo-X. The pack from TACRIG included two screws, but the short M4 screws from Osight were only slightly longer so I used them. The TACRIG screws seemed a bit short to get full engagement. The issue with the Osight SE is, it states RMSc/K Footprint Compatible. That's actually not completely accurate. What it has is recesses for 4 RMSc spaced locator pins, BUT cut to the Holosun K footprint height. Now it's possible the RMSc is also the shorter footprint too. I've only ever owned Holosun so I don't know if the RMSc uses shorter locator pins versus regular height pins meant for Trijicon RMR. Factory Ruger RXM locator pins TACRIG Romeo-X pins for the RXM. A plate would likely offer more support, but since all 4-locator pins are installed, along with the screws, I think it'll be okay.

I bought one yesterday and put sixty six rounds through it today. Fifty rounds of Blaser Brass and sixteen rounds of assorted self defense ammo (Federal HST, Barnes Tac-XPD and Hornady Critical Duty). It was not much but I had no issues, ran like a top. I like it quite a bit, I plan to put more rounds through it and use it as my carry gun. I put a Vortex Defender ST on it.

Range report - Ruger RXM shot side-by-side with a Glock 19 gen 5. After 100 rounds downrange on the RXM a few days ago, I took them both to the range today. The G 19 had an Apex trigger kit installed, but was otherwise stock. I did the 25 cent trigger job on the RXM (lightly polished the side of the trigger bar and the inside of the steel subframe.) Both pistols shot well, it was hard to tell them apart. Accuracy was very good with both. I give the edge to the RXM, because the grip fits my hand better. I liked the mag release on the RXM a little better too, because it is extended. There were no malfunctions with either pistol. Now to select an optic, and try the RXM again. No optics cut on the G 19, just the plastic iron sights. Hey, they work. I like the RXM. Quality seems to be good. _________________________ 2nd Amendment Defender The Second Amendment is not about hunting or sport shooting.
